Chapter 252

Listen to this chapter:

In a situation like this, Hurricane Media was bound to get involved, especially since it concerned the Hall family – whether for public interest or personal reasons, Jaden would definitely send Mandy to take a look.

After Mandy was recognized by the Phillips family, Collin’s position became even more stable, and Mandy’s credentials were impressive as well – joining Hurricane Media posed no problem at all.

Arranging for Mandy to go to the scene of this news story was something Collin and Jaden had discussed beforehand.

Others might not be able to dig up much information, but Mandy already knew about Jaden’s connection to the Hall family.

Being such a clever girl, she knew exactly what to ask to get the information she needed. All things considered, she was definitely the right person for the job.

“Captain Felton, when you head to the scene later, take care of my little girl, will you? You’ve met her before.”

“Alright.”

But when Roy truly got busy, he could barely look after himself – let alone anyone else.

They chatted for a while in the car. Then Roy got out and returned to his own vehicle, while Chris waited for Ashley to return, then he hit the gas, and headed back to the hospital.

Jessica wasn’t home either. Going back that early would serve no purpose – it made more sense to wait at the hospital for updates.

Staying home would only make him more anxious.

With the surveillance data Jennifer had uncovered, they were able to identify two highly suspicious vehicles, whose routes closely matched the one where Luke had disappeared.

There was still one big question: Where had Luke’s car gone?

Later that night, when Roy left the Hall family’s residence, it was already past 10 o’clock. His team was still stationed there, continuing the operation.

With so many people at the Hall family’s residence, there wasn’t even space for them to rest, so Roy returned first. Then, a call from Chris summoned him to the Cosmos to analyze the case.

When he arrived, he realized that Nina, Collin, and Jaden were already there.

“We’ve searched nearby – no sign of an abandoned car. Even if they knocked Luke out and took him, where did Luke’s car go? That flashy red sports car of his – no matter which tunnel it came out of, we wouldn’t have missed it.”

They were all regulars, so there was no need to order. Ethan brought out several dishes according to their preferences.

Nina couldn’t contribute much to the discussion, so she simply ate and listened.

Collin, however, said, “That red sports car is just too eye-catching. What if… the tunnel… I have a theory, but it feels a bit far-fetched, like something out of a movie.”

Jaden glanced at Collin and immediately caught on.

He asked Roy, “Was there a large truck at the scene? The kind with a container – a big rig?”

They had reviewed the footage from all the surveillance points several times. Roy, thinking back casually, was able to recall the key detail.

A large truck, a container – there had indeed been one spotted in a tunnel.

“There was only one that big. Looked like it was transporting fruit.”

Collin said, “I saw a movie once. The twist was that inside the tunnel, the car was loaded into a large container truck. That’s why it vanished.”

It was definitely a new angle.

“That would also explain why Luke’s car went in but never came out. In reality, both the car and Luke were transported away. I’m just worried if Luke’s still alive?”

“He probably is.”

A knock came at the door, and a girl’s voice rang out. Mandy walked in, wearing a simple professional outfit, her pant legs soaked.

As soon as Mandy came in, Collin immediately got up to greet her.

Behind Mandy was Ethan, followed by a few waitstaff carrying towels and women’s clean clothes.

“Go change in the restroom first.”

Mandy was just about to speak when Collin cut her off and ushered her into the restroom, where she could only hand her press credentials and related items to her brother.
