Chapter 119: I’ll Help You

Sammy considered it unnecessary. But this was Chase's way of showing care for the CEO. As the secretary, supporting the CEO's family life and happiness was his job. He could only grit his teeth and comply.

“I also bought two more pots for Mandy,” Chase said with a smile, carefully placing them in a sunny spot. “She loves this kind of thing.” These were fresh imports, unavailable locally.

Wendy felt genuinely happy hearing how naturally and smoothly Chase spoke to her mother. But she also knew that in moments like these, Chase inevitably thought of his birth mother, now resting in the ground, unable to see these flowers bloom.

“Perfect timing,” Wendy said, squatting beside Chase. “Let’s order two more. Before Christmas, we’ll bring some to Mandy as well. One for my dad, one for your mom.”

Chase paused, then lowered his head and smiled. “Alright, whatever you say. They’ll both be really happy to see them.”

Wendy’s thoughtfulness never ceased to surprise Chase. Since learning of his mother’s passing, she'd arranged for her grave to be relocated to the same cemetery as her father's. Every holiday since, she personally brought flowers or small gifts—things a woman might appreciate. Compared to before, her effort was evident, and Chase felt truly content. A few years ago, he wouldn't have dared to dream of this life.

His phone rang—Sammy. Wendy stood to answer.

“Noah agreed,” Sammy said, “but he doesn’t want to be the jewelry ambassador. He’s asking for something else.”

Wendy sat on the couch, eating fruit Chase had washed. “What?”

“He said the new laptop model Quinn Group’s IT division recently released is doing exceptionally well overseas. He thinks endorsing the IT department would be more valuable than jewelry.”

Wendy raised an eyebrow. Quinn Group’s IT division had always operated steadily, consistently ranking in the top five globally without celebrity endorsements. She’d never considered it. But if Noah desired it, adding a brand ambassador wouldn't hurt.

“Fine,” Wendy said suddenly. “As long as Noah’s demands aren’t excessive, we can agree. But one condition—no more relationship rumors with Lemon. I don’t want Chase obsessing over her.”

Chase, still crouched by the flowerpot, turned with a helpless look. Wendy tilted her head away. She wasn’t jealous; she simply wanted Chase’s full attention.

“Got it,” Sammy said, resisting the urge to curse. “I’ll have Legal draft a contract. One year to start?”

Wendy had already consulted Lemon before proceeding with Noah’s contract, ensuring the rumors between them wouldn't affect his brand value. What she hadn't expected was Noah's intelligence. Chase agreed.

“Turning down a jewelry endorsement from Quinn Group and asking for the IT division instead? Electronics sales can’t really compare to jewelry, can they?” Chase asked, despite his limited knowledge; he’d done some research on Noah.

People often called Noah smart. He’d returned to the country gradually, breaking away from his idol group to become a solo artist, far ahead of those still struggling. That was precisely the kind of person Chase found worrisome. He feared ulterior motives behind Noah's closeness to Lemon.

Later, Wendy explained that Lemon had held the Fred family together single-handedly. Without her capabilities, she wouldn't have made it this far. Waylon’s fiery temper was channeled into his bureau job; he couldn’t or wouldn’t help with family matters. Lemon handled everything.

While Waylon appeared as head of the Harrison family, the Freds still relied on Lemon. Therefore, there was no need to worry about Lemon being manipulated.

“That’s not the same,” Chase said, standing. “Feelings are different from business. In work, Fenon International naturally follows Lemon’s lead. Waylon and I don't need to intervene. But when it comes to love… you can’t control that. Whether she ends up hurt or happy, it’s Lemon’s journey.”

Wendy had been reviewing Noah’s file. In all his years abroad, he’d never been involved in a dating scandal. That partly influenced her decision to sign him.

Quinn Group didn’t hold much sway in the entertainment industry. Without the backing of Typhoon Corp and Fenon International, entering showbiz would have been a brutal climb. So, choosing artists required extreme caution. Noah wasn’t the product of a long search, but appearing before her, he seemed decent enough.

“You don’t mind me signing Noah?” she asked.

Chase shrugged. “Quinn Group is yours. Why would I mind? If Noah scams you, I’ll help you.”

Chase’s offer sounded like a joke. A man without a job, living off his wife… what help could he really offer?
