The room buzzed with the striking beauty of the women auditioning for the leading lady role. However, Elizabeth's entrance commanded an immediate, collective pause; her radiance eclipsed them all.

Though undeniably beautiful, Elizabeth was instantly perceived as a rival. A wave of competitiveness washed over the other actresses, murmurs filling the air as they assessed her. Her fresh-faced anonymity led many to believe she was an inexperienced newcomer, a stranger to the industry. Skepticism spread rapidly: "Just another gorgeous girl hoping for a big break," they muttered.

Sandra arrived, surrounded by onlookers. Already possessing considerable prestige, she enjoyed access to a private lounge and had arrived before Elizabeth, joining the others only when called for the lottery and script distribution. Spotting Elizabeth, Sandra briefly hesitated before coolly averting her gaze. Her presence further fueled the competitive atmosphere. With her magnetic aura and influential connections, the possibility of anyone else securing the lead role seemed remote.

Disheartened but pragmatic, some actresses decided that cultivating Sandra's favor might prove advantageous. After receiving their numbers and scripts, several gravitated towards her, showering her with flattery: "Sandra, your talent and fame are unparalleled. The lead role is undoubtedly yours. We're here more to observe than compete." Another added, "Absolutely, Sandra, with your track record, who could possibly challenge you? We're just here to make up the numbers."

Some had witnessed the fleeting exchange between Sandra and Elizabeth and whispered, "Certainly. But it seems some are overreaching. An upstart with no experience, lost in delusions of grandeur, hoping to snag the lead." Others speculated, "Maybe it's because the auditions are during the day. She seems out of her depth. Does she think her looks could eclipse Sandra? Does she even have what it takes to act?" "No matter how stunning," another chimed in, "she doesn't have Sandra's commanding aura. At most, a villainous supporting role."

The room erupted in laughter, all eyes fixed on Elizabeth. Ruby started to retort, but Elizabeth's gentle hand squeeze silenced her. Elizabeth then met Sandra's gaze; their eyes locked, a subtle smile playing on Sandra's lips.

A staff member announced, "Number 7, Elizabeth, you're up."

Elizabeth rose, pausing at the door. With composed irritation, she declared, "It feels like I've wandered into a fortune-teller's gathering, where acting skill and star quality are judged solely on appearances. Good looks may not carry much weight, but I'll take the compliments regardless." The constant comparisons to Sandra grated on her. With calculated spite, she added, "Actually, I find your envy more flattering than any admirer's praise."
