He laughs, "I would like that. Let's do it, Ben. I'd try very hard for it; we can explore together." He winks, wrapping his arm around me and kissing the top of my head.
"Ink. Stay right here. Do not move. Should any man approach, make your necklace invisible. If that doesn't make them go away, kick them in the shins," he states, kissing me roughly. I respond with a moan, kissing him back and pressing my body against his. He slides his hand down my back and onto my ass, then squeezes it. "I will be back in a—"
Suddenly, I feel nervous again, standing alone. He shouldn't be too long. I survey the room. Fewer people are present than before. They're probably away enjoying themselves.
She catches my eye. I am instantly captivated by her. In all my life, I've never encountered a more beautiful woman. She is almost angelic. Blonde hair cascades down her back. Her bright blue eyes sparkle beautifully. Her skin is a perfect light tone, and a gorgeous white dress covers her body. Oh, wow, who is she? Never before have I been so captivated by embodied perfection. I'm not alone in finding her captivating; she's the center of attention. She offers a sweet smile to all. Why can't I take my eyes off her?
She must have felt me staring because she turns to me. She flashes her perfect smile, showing her white teeth, and waves. I blush and wave back. She giggles and gets back to the conversation she was having with someone. What is going on with me?
"Um, Lettre, are you okay? Who are you looking at? I hope your eyes aren't on another man," another man says, pulling my attention away from her. "Who's that woman? The one who looks like she fell straight from heaven?"
"That's Angelina."
He's joking. Curious about his distraction, I observed him to see if she captivated him as she had me. I would completely understand if she did. How could he prefer someone like her to someone like me? I am nothing, a plain Jane compared to her. A wave of self-consciousness washed over me.
"I am with you, not far. I don't want to be with her," he sighs and reaches down to kiss me softly, sucking away any lingering thoughts.
As we separate, they're still kissing. However, I see where she was a moment ago because she is heading in our direction. God, is this going to be awkward? This is what I dreaded.
