I was meeting Angelina before work for an early coffee and breakfast. I was going to invite her to the party this weekend. I am not sure how his parents will react to her being there and finding out we are friends, but I am sure they won’t ask too many questions. We invited Wyatt to accompany us, but he said he didn’t want to be a third wheel while we had girl talk.
I am waiting outside the café for her. I look around to see if I can see her coming, but she isn’t yet. I am here a little early, but someone else soon catches my eye. Georgina! What are the chances of me running into her? She had texted Wyatt a couple of times since the night she sent him the photo. Why can’t she take the hint? I wish he would block her number, but I know he needs to be careful since she is a crazy bitch and could make Wyatt and his family lose hundreds of millions. I want badly to say something to her, but I won’t. I don’t need to add fuel to the fire. She probably won’t recognize me, anyway. Somehow, she doesn’t seem the type to remember someone’s “assistant.”
She gets closer, and I hope she walks right by me, but she doesn’t. She stops right in front of me.
“I know you; you are Wyatt’s assistant,” she says.
“Yes, that is me,” I reply politely.
“The rude one,” she adds.
I stop myself from rolling my eyes and slapping her. Who does she think she is? I am not rude. I was having a bad day. I am very capable at my job.
“Well, how hard can it be to be an assistant?”
God, if she has one, it must be the hardest job in the world, having to deal with her every day. I couldn’t deal with it without wanting to slap her.
“Can I help you with something?”
“Yes, who is Wyatt’s new girlfriend?”
Does she really think I am going to answer that?
“I am sorry. It is not my place to tell you that information.”
“I don’t care. Who is she? And what is so special about her that he doesn’t want to be involved with me?”
This bitch better piss off before I say something I end up regretting.
“I am not telling you. I don’t need to tell you anything. I work for Wyatt, not you. If he doesn’t want to be involved with you, then he must have a good reason for doing so. Now, stop asking me because I am not going to tell you.” I hiss, my patience running low with her.
“I could get you fired, you know?” she hisses back.
A laugh falls from my lips before I can stop it. “Good luck with that. I am the best assistant he has ever had. Wyatt won’t fire me.”
She steps in closer to me, “Oh, I can be very convincing.”
“Try all you want, it won’t happen. I can see why Wyatt isn’t interested in you any longer because you are a horrible human being who thinks she is better than everyone else.”
“Don’t you talk to me like that. I don’t think I am better. I am.” She protests.
I scoff, “Whatever helps you sleep at night. Please, go away. I have had enough of you.” I state firmly.
She seems surprised by me standing my ground. What does she think that I am going to back down? No way in hell. I have dealt with women like her before, and worse. She is nothing…
She sends me a death glare and storms off. God, I have never wanted to slap anyone as much as I do her. She had better stay the hell away from my man, or I won’t be so nice. I wish Wyatt could cut all ties with her, but I know it is easier said than done.
“Did I just see you talking to Georgina?” Angelina asks, appearing in front of me.
I am glad she appeared after Georgina left because I didn’t want them getting into it or her working out who I am, Wyatt’s girlfriend, and that is why I know Angelina.
