Chapter Seventy-Nine: I Feel Terrible
I feel terrible for leaving Alyssa alone last night. I shouldn’t have done that. I could have asked her to join us for dinner. She had the right to be mad at me. I had been awake for a while. I had left her to sleep because I wanted to set up a romantic breakfast for us. I had ordered room service and set it up on the balcony.
It is a start. I really do just keep messing up, even with simple things. I climb onto the bed and lean over her. I reach down, pressing my lips to hers. She moans, her arms automatically coming around my neck, and she kisses back. I part from the kiss, and she opens her eyes.
“Good morning, beautiful. Are you still mad at me?” I ask nervously.
“No. Today is a new day.”
“I really am sorry, sweetheart. I shouldn’t have left you here alone last night.”
She runs her fingers through my hair. “It is okay, just don’t do it again.” She warns, prodding my nose and laughing.
“I promise I will try not to mess up again.” She nods and kisses me. I get to my feet and offer her my hand. She looks at me, confused.
“Where are we going?”
“I have breakfast for us,” I answer.
She takes my hand, and I help her out of bed. I lead her to the balcony. She gushes.
“My way of making up for being an idiot.”
“My way is about you. I plan on spoiling you.”
“You don’t need to spoil me, Wyatt.” She says softly.
I pull her chair out to let her sit down before I take the other seat across from her. We had a mixture of pastries, fruits, eggs, and bacon. I plate some food for her, knowing all her favorites before taking some for myself.
“How did you manage to do that without me waking up?” she laughs.
“I made sure to be extra quiet. I thought we could have breakfast with a view.”
“It is an incredible view. Everything looks and smells so good.” She grins, tucking straight in.
We sit in comfortable silence, enjoying the food and the warm air. She admired the view; I admired her. She looks so pretty first thing in the morning, even more so with the sun beating down on her face. I smile, utterly smitten with her. I take my cell from my pocket and snap a photo.
“Hey! Stop taking photos. I have just woken up.” She pouts.
“And? It is my favorite look on you. You look beautiful.”
She blushes and gives me a shy smile.
“Thank you for my new screensaver, baby girl.” I wink.
She playfully rolls her eyes and shakes her head. I grin widely at her and set the photo as my new screensaver. My lock screen is a photo of the two of us together. I’ve never been in a relationship that makes me want the other person on my phone like this.
I pull myself together and focus on my breakfast. She distracts me too easily. I am happy she isn’t mad at me any longer, but we can go do some activities—shopping, lunch, and dinner. It sounds perfect, especially since I let her down last night with dinner.
“We should go away somewhere… a weekend,” I say, breaking the silence. I still want to spoil her.
“That would be nice. Where did you have in mind? We could go to your cabin.”
“We can go wherever you want, sweetness. We can get it sorted for next month.”
It would be nice to get away, just the two of us, without any business. I will take her wherever she wants to go in the world. If she picks the cabin, that is fine.
“It sounds perfect, handsome.” She says and reaches over the table to kiss me softly.
We finish our breakfast, and I place everything on the tray, placing it outside our room for the staff to take away.
“We should shower and head out to start our day.”
Alyssa nods, and we get ourselves ready.
It has been a good day. I wish we could stay another day or two, but we will need to get back tomorrow. We had done some shopping, went to an art exhibition, had lunch, and now we were relaxing in the park with iced coffees.
She lets out a soft whimper. My back is resting against a tree, and Alyssa is sitting between my legs, resting against me. I nuzzle my face in her neck. She turns her head to face me. I take advantage of it and kiss her sweetly.
She gets comfortable again.
“I have a surprise for you. Though you may need to wait a week or two to get it because I am still learning.”
“What type of surprise!”
I couldn’t even think of what she meant.
“It has to do with the classes I have been taking the last couple of weeks.”
Now, I am intrigued. “You have to tell me.” I chuckle.
Alyssa turns to face me and kneels in front of me. “You will have to wait and find out, but I wanted to share with you. I promise it will be worth the…”
I raise my brow at her. “Tell me!” I demand.
She shakes her head. “Nope. You can say and do what you want to me, but I still won’t tell you.”
I pout at her, but it doesn’t work. She looks at me smugly and crashes her lips to mine to silence me. I groan, pulling her closer to me and deepening the kiss. I run my hand down her back and swat her ass. She whimpers into my lips.
When our lips break, I dip my head down to kiss her neck. She entangles her fingers in my hair and moans deeply. “I think you need to take me back. I need you badly, and if we don’t move, I will end up fucking you here.”
“We should go then. I want a better view of the… um… that you had on in those photos.”
“Mmm, that could be arranged.”
She perks my lips and quickly gets to her feet. She impatiently extends her hand. I tease her for a moment but take it, and she helps me up. We gather our things and rush back to the hotel. We are desperate for one another. Aren’t we always?
I will be racking my brain on what her sexy surprise will be. I wonder if I could use my skills in the bedroom to coax it out of her. I will give it a fair shot. If it doesn’t work, then I will need to wait. She said it would be worth it, and of course, it will be. Anything she does is worth it.
I plan on keeping her locked in the hotel room until our dinner reservation at seven. We have a few hours to pass before then.
