Alariekaโs skin was really delicate, and her palms hit hard, leaving red marks all over her skin. Since it couldnโt be wiped off, she just covered up Kieranโs mark with an even deeper one.
Half an hour later, Alarieka came out of the bathroom soaking wet, hugging herself tightly with both arms. She lowered her head and walked a few steps. At that moment, Kieran came in from outside the hospital room. Alarieka looked up, her eyes clear and bright, without any obvious emotion.
It was Kieran. His dark eyes fell on her wet hair tips, and he seemed to frown a little. He said in a deep voice, โStill sick and you dare to take a shower?โ
Alariekaโs lips pressed together stubbornly, and she looked at him coldly without saying anything. Alariekaโs feelings were way too obvious, and then there were Alariekaโs actions, holding her body tightly.
Kieran gradually started to feel that something was off. His face suddenly darkened, he strode toward Alarieka, then quickly reached out and yanked open Alariekaโs collar. Under the collar, there was a big patch of red marks, like someone had rubbed them out. All those marks covered up the ones he left. There was a look of anger in Kieranโs eyes.
He got so mad that he laughed, lowered his head close to Alarieka, and said in a low voice, โWhat, you think Iโm dirty?โ
โYou should have remembered, it was you who begged me.โ
Alariekaโs face went pale and she looked at him coldly. It really was her begging him, looking all fawning and desperateโAlarieka didnโt even want to think about it anymore.
Alarieka took a step back, putting some distance between herself and Kieran. She spoke, her voice calm: โKieran, I fell for it this time, I couldnโt control myself.โ
โI also thanked you for getting me out.โ
โBut,โ Alariekaโs eyes got colder, and there was a bit of gritting teeth in her voice, โbut you shouldnโt have taken advantage of someone when theyโre down.โ
Kieran gave a short scoff, reached out and grabbed her chin, yanked it up, and looked her over with calm, dark eyes.
โDonโt forget how you begged me in tears.โ
Alarieka bit her lip.
Kieran raised the corners of his mouth with interest: โIf there was surveillance, you really shouldโve seen yourself. Any guy wouldnโt be able to resist.โ
Alarieka gritted her teeth and suddenly pushed Kieran away. She sneered, โSince I entered the Argentโs villa, the only thing I drank was the chicken soup Roschelle gave me.โ
โYou might as well go check who drugged me.โ
Alarieka said provocatively, โMaybe the result would really surprise you.โ
Actually, Alarieka really didnโt need to check. She only had one answer in her heart. That was Roschelle. In the past, Roschelle used countless dirty tricks, and drugging people was one of her usual methods. This time, it must have been Roschelle who did it. She wasnโt alert, so she fell for her trick.
Hearing that, Kieranโs face seemed to get even darker, and his voice stayed as cold as ever: โIโll look into it.โ
Alarieka made a sarcastic comment that didnโt make sense: โHope you really could get everything clear, donโt go easy on them.โ
Kieran squinted a little, โYou suspected Rosรฉ?โ
It was not a question, but a statement.
Alarieka sat on the edge of the bed and looked out the window. โI didnโt say that.โ
Kieran said, โIt couldnโt be her.โ
Kieranโs answer was just what she expected. Alarieka said calmly, โI hope you can prove her innocence for her. That bowl of chicken soup, she was the one who wanted me to drink it.โ
Kieranโs voice grew lower: โShe wouldnโt do something like that.โ
It felt like there was a needle poking at the tip of Alariekaโs heart, and she even had trouble breathing.
Alarieka took a deep breath and said softly, โYou can go.โ
Alarieka wanted to go after Roschelle as much as she felt helpless and disappointed. She knew, with Kieran there, with Kieran protecting Roschelle, she could never beat Roschelle. Kieran was Roschelleโs biggest support, and also her biggest obstacle.
After thinking it over, she remembered what the police had said, that there hadnโt been any suspicious money coming into the accounts of Rhettโs family or friends. Alarieka didnโt believe there was no anomaly. She took the phone and called Jaylene.
It was the weekend. Jaylene picked up the phone really fast. The moment the call went through, Jayleneโs loud voice came over.
โAlarieka, where have you been these days? Why didnโt you come to school, and you didnโt ask for leave either?โ
There was too much going on these days, Alarieka had already skipped class for several days and didnโt ask for leave. Thinking of these, she actually felt a bit embarrassed.
