Alarieka’s skin was really delicate, and her palms hit hard, leaving red marks all over her skin. Since it couldn’t be wiped off, she just covered up Kieran’s mark with an even deeper one.

Half an hour later, Alarieka came out of the bathroom soaking wet, hugging herself tightly with both arms. She lowered her head and walked a few steps. At that moment, Kieran came in from outside the hospital room. Alarieka looked up, her eyes clear and bright, without any obvious emotion.

It was Kieran. His dark eyes fell on her wet hair tips, and he seemed to frown a little. He said in a deep voice, “Still sick and you dare to take a shower?”

Alarieka’s lips pressed together stubbornly, and she looked at him coldly without saying anything. Alarieka’s feelings were way too obvious, and then there were Alarieka’s actions, holding her body tightly.

Kieran gradually started to feel that something was off. His face suddenly darkened, he strode toward Alarieka, then quickly reached out and yanked open Alarieka’s collar. Under the collar, there was a big patch of red marks, like someone had rubbed them out. All those marks covered up the ones he left. There was a look of anger in Kieran’s eyes.

He got so mad that he laughed, lowered his head close to Alarieka, and said in a low voice, “What, you think I’m dirty?”

“You should have remembered, it was you who begged me.”

Alarieka’s face went pale and she looked at him coldly. It really was her begging him, looking all fawning and desperate—Alarieka didn’t even want to think about it anymore.

Alarieka took a step back, putting some distance between herself and Kieran. She spoke, her voice calm: “Kieran, I fell for it this time, I couldn’t control myself.”

“I also thanked you for getting me out.”

“But,” Alarieka’s eyes got colder, and there was a bit of gritting teeth in her voice, “but you shouldn’t have taken advantage of someone when they’re down.”

Kieran gave a short scoff, reached out and grabbed her chin, yanked it up, and looked her over with calm, dark eyes.

“Don’t forget how you begged me in tears.”

Alarieka bit her lip.

Kieran raised the corners of his mouth with interest: “If there was surveillance, you really should’ve seen yourself. Any guy wouldn’t be able to resist.”

Alarieka gritted her teeth and suddenly pushed Kieran away. She sneered, “Since I entered the Argent’s villa, the only thing I drank was the chicken soup Roschelle gave me.”

“You might as well go check who drugged me.”

Alarieka said provocatively, “Maybe the result would really surprise you.”

Actually, Alarieka really didn’t need to check. She only had one answer in her heart. That was Roschelle. In the past, Roschelle used countless dirty tricks, and drugging people was one of her usual methods. This time, it must have been Roschelle who did it. She wasn’t alert, so she fell for her trick.

Hearing that, Kieran’s face seemed to get even darker, and his voice stayed as cold as ever: “I’ll look into it.”

Alarieka made a sarcastic comment that didn’t make sense: “Hope you really could get everything clear, don’t go easy on them.”

Kieran squinted a little, “You suspected Rosé?”

It was not a question, but a statement.

Alarieka sat on the edge of the bed and looked out the window. “I didn’t say that.”

Kieran said, “It couldn’t be her.”

Kieran’s answer was just what she expected. Alarieka said calmly, “I hope you can prove her innocence for her. That bowl of chicken soup, she was the one who wanted me to drink it.”

Kieran’s voice grew lower: “She wouldn’t do something like that.”

It felt like there was a needle poking at the tip of Alarieka’s heart, and she even had trouble breathing.

Alarieka took a deep breath and said softly, “You can go.”

Alarieka wanted to go after Roschelle as much as she felt helpless and disappointed. She knew, with Kieran there, with Kieran protecting Roschelle, she could never beat Roschelle. Kieran was Roschelle’s biggest support, and also her biggest obstacle.

After thinking it over, she remembered what the police had said, that there hadn’t been any suspicious money coming into the accounts of Rhett’s family or friends. Alarieka didn’t believe there was no anomaly. She took the phone and called Jaylene.

It was the weekend. Jaylene picked up the phone really fast. The moment the call went through, Jaylene’s loud voice came over.

“Alarieka, where have you been these days? Why didn’t you come to school, and you didn’t ask for leave either?”

There was too much going on these days, Alarieka had already skipped class for several days and didn’t ask for leave. Thinking of these, she actually felt a bit embarrassed.
