Listen to this chapter:

โ€œLetโ€™s go.โ€

Roschelle nodded, sobbing. Just as she was about to turn and leave with Kieran, she suddenly faced everyone in the hospital room.

Roschelle gave everyone a deep bow and held it for almost three seconds. After getting up, she looked down and said, โ€œSorry, everyone. It was my fault. I made a decision without paying attention to the situation and ended up hurting you all. Iโ€™m sorry.โ€

A delicate, pretty beauty apologized to them, and for a moment, everyone in the hospital room looked a bit sympathetic and sorry for her. Some even looked at Alarieka and Jaylene in a strange way.

Roschelle looked at Alarieka stubbornly but softly, her voice shaking: โ€œAlarieka, Kier didnโ€™t know about this. If youโ€™re mad, just be mad at me; donโ€™t blame Kier. Kier didnโ€™t know anything, heโ€™s innocent.โ€

Kieran reached out and pulled her over, a look of concern already in his eyes. โ€œWhy talk about this? Letโ€™s go.โ€

Roschelleโ€™s big eyes looked at him, innocent and pitiful, and she nodded, โ€œOkay.โ€

A bunch of twisted talk. Roschelle played it to the hilt and managed to turn her reputation around.

People in the ward already felt sorry.

โ€œForget it, little girl. Maybe those people really didnโ€™t know the truth; thatโ€™s why they did something wrong. She apologized, your grandma got her bed back, thereโ€™s no need to keep pushing.โ€

Alarieka thought, when had she ever been pushy? When did Roschelle not know?

Thinking back to the provocative look Roschelle gave when she left, Alarieka was sure she definitely knew; thatโ€™s why she just happened to take Lorelaiโ€™s bed.

Roschelle was just that good. With just a few words, she put herself in the spot of an innocent victim, made herself look totally clean, and made people feel sorry for her. It also made everyone jump to the conclusion that Alarieka was being aggressive.

Alarieka didnโ€™t say anything else and just listened to everyone in the hospital room talking.

โ€œI thought those two looked kind of familiar, like they were some big shots.โ€

โ€œHey, I just remembered, wasnโ€™t that Mr. Argent and the pianist Roschelle?โ€

โ€œYeah, the two of them were really famous and outstanding. They both studied abroad and came back. Plus, they were each otherโ€™s first love, super in love, and often did charity work together. They donated a lot of money.โ€

โ€œThen we must have misunderstood. How could Kieran and Roschelle do something like steal someoneโ€™s hospital bed?โ€

Jaylene listened and got really mad, almost wanting to stand up right away and argue. It was Alarieka who stopped her: โ€œJust get the bed back, donโ€™t make things more complicated.โ€

Jayleneโ€™s face turned red with anger: โ€œSo we just let them twist the truth?โ€

Alarieka said softly, โ€œYou know what kind of person Kieran was. Do you think we could beat him?โ€

Jaylene suddenly deflated like a balloon that lost all its air.

That afternoon, when Alarieka went out to get hot water, Natalie swaggered past her from behind, looking at her with a proud and provocative look.

Natalie sneered and said, โ€œShared room? You guys just keep squeezing in there. Iโ€™m taking my dad to a VIP single room. I wonโ€™t crowd in with you all. Thatโ€™s too hard. I canโ€™t let my dad stay with you people.โ€

Alarieka indifferently took her bottle to get some hot water, and Natalie kept talking behind her.

โ€œDonโ€™t you want to know who set it up for me?โ€

โ€œIt was Kieran, the Kieran you kept thinking about but couldnโ€™t get. Rose just mentioned it to Kieran, and Kieran immediately had someone take care of it.โ€

โ€œDid you think my dad would have to stay in the hallway too? Sorry, you were wrong. Bet you didnโ€™t see that coming. My dad actually got a better room, had a professional nurse taking care of him, and didnโ€™t have to pay a cent. Kieran covered all the costs. Iโ€™m just not like you guys.โ€

Natalie threw her head back and laughed, laughing like a real little villain.

Alarieka took the kettle but didnโ€™t put the lid on right away. She turned around, and suddenly some boiling hot water from the kettle spilled toward Natalie. She clearly saw some drops of water roll onto Natalieโ€™s bare skin, and Natalie screamed from the scalding hot water.

โ€œAh!โ€

Alarieka gave a half-smile and said, โ€œSorry, didnโ€™t see you.โ€

Natalie pointed at her, her face a little twisted: โ€œYou did it on purpose!โ€

Alarieka laughed softly and said, โ€œIโ€™m innocent, I really didnโ€™t see you.โ€

After saying that, she turned around and left, not paying any more attention to the clown.
