Chapter 124
Alaricka pretended to have a cold face. โThere was no room for discussion about this, I didnโt take more.โ
Jayleneโs lips opened and closed a few times, then her eyes turned red. โAlaricka, thank you, really, thank you.โ
She suddenly lowered her head and wiped away the tears at the corner of her eyes. โI kind of believed what those people said before, thought you were hard to get along with. Now I see, I was wrong, they were wrong.โ โAlaricka, I remembered you, I always remembered you.โ
Alaricka burst out laughing, โThe way you said that, I thought you were holding a grudge.โ Jaylene also broke into a smile through her tears.
It was close to midnight, and the two rode back on a tricycle. On the way, a Rolls-Royce blocked Alaricka and Jayleneโs path.
Kieran got out of the car, tiredly and impatiently yanking off his tie with one hand. His eyes were closed, and his voice was low and cold, straight to the point. โGet in the car.โ
Jaylene blocked Alaricka behind her and frowned, โWhatโs up?โ Kieran opened his eyes. In the dark night, his black eyes looked even deeper. He didnโt even glance at Jaylene, just looked straight at Alaricka, his eyes cold and heavy. โAlarieka, get in the car, donโt make me say it again.โ
Maybe because her friend was by her side, Alaricka looked into Kieranโs dark eyes and felt a bit more confident inside. โWhy do I have to go with you?โ Alaricka shook her head: โIโm not leaving.โ
Kieranโs brows were lowered, and his whole vibe made people afraid to look at him. Alaricka held her breath and stared at Kieran without looking away.
Kieran gave her and Jayleneโs old tricycle a look she couldnโt read and said coldly, โSo this is your life now?โ โYou were still a student who had to take exams, but now you have ended up setting up a stall to sell barbecue?โ There was a sharp, obvious sarcasm in Kieranโs eyes: โThis is your new life?โ
Such obvious sarcasm. Alaricka got pissed off right away. Alaricka clenched her fists and lowered her voice, โI donโt need you to care about me.โ
His pregnant wife was already waiting at the Argentโs villa, so what right did he have, and from what position, to control her? Kieran gave a cold laugh, โNone of my business?โ โAll those things you did before, which one wasnโt I in charge of? Now youโve grown up and just have to come suffer?โ
Alaricka shot back with a cold, sarcastic tone, โNo matter how tough things got, it was still better than getting framed at the Argentโs villa, donโt you think?โ Kieran narrowed his eyes, and there was a dangerous glint in them. โAlaricka, are you leaving on your own, or should I take you?โ
Alaricka sneered, โLetโs go, just ignore him.โ Jaylene nodded hard, and the tricycle started moving slowly.
Who knew, Kieran strode over. The tricycle was an open design, so while it wasnโt going fast, Kieran reached out and grabbed Alarickaโs hand. With one strong pull, Alaricka was dragged down.
Alaricka didnโt even have time to react before Kieran pulled her down. Alaricka thought she was about to hit the hard ground. She shut her eyes tight, frowned, and her heart raced at that moment. She fell into a warm, solid hug, and her nose caught a familiar scent.
Kieranโs cold, hard voice came from above her: โSince you donโt want to leave, Iโll just carry you.โ She hadnโt even had time to accept what was happening, and then everything started spinning. Alaricka saw the ground. She opened her eyes wide.
She was slung over Kieranโs shoulder, her stomach pressed against Kieranโs hard shoulder bone. Every step Kieran took seemed like it was going to jab right through her stomach and force everything inside outโฆ โKieran! Let go of me! Let go of me now!โ
She punched Kieran hard on the back. She pounded on Kieranโs back, making a thumping sound, and Kieran just walked faster, bumping her around even more, which made Alaricka so mad she almost wanted to bite him. โKieran, what is wrong with you?โ
Kieran didnโt say a word, opened the car door, and just threw her into the back seat. Although the car mat was really soft, it still knocked Alaricka for a loop.
In the chaos, she heard Jayleneโs voice. โKieran, didnโt you hear she didnโt want to go with you?!โ
Kieran slammed the car door shut, and their voices were cut off outside the door. Alaricka hurriedly got up from the back seat, grabbed the car window, and tried to open the door. But it wouldnโt open, both doors on the sides must've been locked by Kieran.
