Chapter 150

Roschelle was startled and quickly shut her mouth. If the Argent family found out the baby in her belly wasnโ€™t Kieranโ€™s, it would all be over.

Clarissa walked over, happy but confused: โ€œRose, what were you just saying? Whatโ€™s wrong with the kid?โ€

Roschelle looked a bit pale and shook her head slightly, โ€œItโ€™s nothing, just talking to the kid.โ€

Clarissa ran over and looked at Roschelleโ€™s belly, careful and curious.

โ€œDid this kid bother you again?โ€

Roschelle smiled at the corners of her mouth, โ€œNo, this kid was pretty well-behaved.โ€

Clarissa hugged her arms and laughed, โ€œOf course, thatโ€™s Kieranโ€™s and your kid. How could they not be good?โ€

The smile at the corner of Roschelleโ€™s mouth froze.

โ€œLetโ€™s not talk about that. Did you need something from me?โ€

Clarissaโ€™s eyes flashed. โ€œRose, did you know about Alarieka and her classmates setting up a street stall lately? I posted it in the group.โ€

Roschelle nodded, โ€œGot it.โ€

Her eyes darkened, and she said, looking worried, โ€œAlarieka was still just a student after all. After leaving the Argent family, she didnโ€™t really have any way to make a living. It was really too hard for a senior high school student like her to go set up a stall.โ€

Clarissa almost wanted to slam the table, but she was worried about scaring Roschelle, who was already two months pregnant, so she just curled her lip in disdain.

โ€œRose, I knew you were kind, but that was Alarieka. Do you know what kind of person Alarieka was? Rose, youโ€™d better not be so naive and let trouble into your house.โ€

Roschelle said softly, โ€œShe was kind of the adopted daughter of the Argent family.โ€

Clarissa curled her lip in disdain: โ€œWhat adopted daughter? Sheโ€™s just a freeloader who shamelessly stayed at my house. Good thing Grandpa kicked her out, or I wouldnโ€™t have felt comfortable living here.โ€

Clarissa suddenly lowered her voice, โ€œRose, I just thought of a really interesting idea. Do you want to hear it?โ€

Clarissa was a straightforward girl, and you could read all her thoughts on her face. Roschelle, of course, noticed that she was eager to try and had some bad feelings toward Alarieka.

She didnโ€™t stop it; she even seemed happy about it.

Clarissa bent down and said something in her ear.

Roschelle just listened and didnโ€™t say anything. Until Clarissa finished speaking, her voice was soft and anxious: โ€œClarissa, youโ€™re sisters after all. You donโ€™t have to go this far.โ€

Clarissa snorted and laughed, โ€œWhat sister? She didnโ€™t deserve it.โ€

โ€œRose, donโ€™t worry about it, just watch me.โ€

Roschelle looked at Clarissa with an anxious and helpless look in her eyes.

Until Clarissa left, the warmth in Roschelleโ€™s eyes suddenly turned cold.

She quietly curled her lips, and a hint of sarcasm flashed in her eyes.

Clarissa was brainless; just let her charge ahead. She sat back and watched the others fight.

After school on Friday, Alarieka and Jaylene set up their stall early.

Jaylene had been running her stall for half a month and was already really good at it, so Alarieka couldnโ€™t really help much.

Not only that, Jaylene also grabbed her by the shoulders and made her sit down, telling her to study hard and not to worry about these things.

Alarieka couldnโ€™t say no to Jaylene, so she sat next to Jaylene and started working on her workbook.

Actually, as time went by, there were fewer people in front of the stall, but it was still much busier than the other stalls.

In the middle of all the hustle and bustle, Alarieka had already finished two pages of the workbook, and Jaylene had also sold a lot of barbecue.

In the noise, a girl was squatting on the ground, holding her stomach, looking pale.

There were some not-too-loud, not-too-quiet exclamations around, and Alarieka looked up when she heard them.

I saw that girl holding a barbecue wrapper from Jayleneโ€™s stand, and the barbecue in her other hand had dropped onto the floor by her feet.

Everyoneโ€™s expression changed.

These past few days, Jayleneโ€™s BBQ stand was really popular around here, and there wasnโ€™t anyone within a few steps who didnโ€™t recognize the BBQ packaging bags from Jaylene.

After they saw clearly the bag in the girlโ€™s hand, a lot of people instantly looked at Jaylene with shocked and accusing eyes.

Jaylene froze, which was rare. This usually cheerful and outgoing girl just stood there and honestly didnโ€™t know what to do.

โ€œItโ€™s Jaylene and Alariekaโ€™s barbecue! Youโ€™ll get a stomachache!โ€

There were snack streets near the school gates around here, and besides Jaylene and Alarieka, there were lots of other shops too.

Jayleneโ€™s BBQ stand attracted a lot of student customers from the school, and the nearby shop owners were angry but didnโ€™t dare to say anything.
