Chapter 166

Alaricka slowly frowned. She looked toward Kieran and Roschelle. Kieran had his back to her, and only Roschelle turned her head to look at her. She looked at Roschelle. Roschelle smiled and picked up the water cup next to her, making sure to show the Schultz Group logo on the bottom, and shook it at her. Alarickaโ€™s brows twitched a little. She took a deep breath and pushed down the worry rising in her heart. The Mcintosh Piano Competition was always fair and strict, and it didnโ€™t take bribes just because Patrick sponsored the competition.

Thinking like that, Alarickaโ€™s face relaxed a bit. On the other side, Roschelle wiped her hands and came out of the bathroom, and a flash of light blue passed before her eyes. Her pupils shrank, and she instinctively tried to back into the bathroom. The next second, someone grabbed her wrist and pinned her against the wall. At the same time, her mouth was covered.

Roschelle was almost scared to tears, breathing fast, her hands and feet were shaking, and she didnโ€™t even dare to open her eyes.

โ€œWhat are you crying for?โ€ A gentle, almost sighing voice fell by her ear. Roschelle opened her eyes, her watery eyes staring nervously at the person in front of her, and tears were streaming down. These eyes and tears almost melted the manโ€™s heart. Patrick couldnโ€™t help but lower his voice again, bent down, and used the hand that was covering Roschelleโ€™s mouth to wipe her tears. โ€œAlright, alright, donโ€™t cry, donโ€™t cry, youโ€™re making me feel bad.โ€

Roschelle saw clearly who was in front of her, and tears instantly streamed down again. She raised her hand and hit Patrickโ€™s shoulder and chest, crying as she spoke. โ€œWhat did you do to scare me!โ€

Patrick chuckled and took Roschelleโ€™s anger. โ€œOkay, okay, it was my fault, it was my fault. You can hit me however you want, alright?โ€

Roschelle wiped her tears, looked up and glared at him: โ€œMy hand hurt from hitting you.โ€

Patrick smiled gently and playfully, reaching out to grab Roschelleโ€™s hand: โ€œWhere does it hurt? Let me see.โ€

Roschelle slapped his hand away, bit her lip, and said, โ€œDonโ€™t touch me.โ€

Patrickโ€™s eyes suddenly darkened. He let out a short laugh, though there wasnโ€™t much amusement in his eyes: โ€œWhat, I canโ€™t touch you, but Kieran can?โ€

Hearing that, a shy blush appeared on Roschelleโ€™s cheeks: โ€œWhat are you talking about? Why is Kieran just like you?โ€

Patrick lowered his eyelids, and for a moment, there was a hint of sadness on his face. After a moment, he let out a soft scoff and stepped back a few paces. When she looked up, Patrick already had his usual playful smile: โ€œForget about him, letโ€™s talk about you.โ€

Roschelle lifted her chin, โ€œWhat did you say about me?โ€

Patrickโ€™s eyes went cold. โ€œTell me, what did Alaricka do to you?โ€

A hint of meaning flashed in Roschelleโ€™s eyes: โ€œWhy are you asking this?โ€

Patrick looked a bit more serious, but since it was the person across from him, he still had a smile on his face. โ€œI hadnโ€™t even gone back and I already heard about it, that Alaricka had done quite a few good things.โ€

In just a few seconds, an idea popped up in Roschelleโ€™s head. The best thing about Patrick was that he was totally in love with her. Even when he knew she was already pregnant, he still didnโ€™t change his mind and was willing to do anything for her. If it wasnโ€™t for Kieran, she really wouldโ€™ve picked him. But there was no what if. Kieran was the best choice. But she also didnโ€™t want to give up a loyal and capable simp.

Roschelle lowered her head, raised her hand, and wiped away the tears that hadnโ€™t dried yet. Her voice was really low, like sheโ€™d been really wronged. โ€œItโ€™s okay, she didnโ€™t do anything to me, I was just too useless.โ€

Just as Roschelle expected, Patrickโ€™s face fell and he pressed, โ€œWhat? What did she do to you?โ€

Roschelle sniffled and shook her head, โ€œItโ€™s nothing, you donโ€™t have to worry about me.โ€

Patrick strode forward and grabbed her shoulders. โ€œTell me, what exactly did she do? Did she really bully you?โ€

Patrickโ€™s tone was really serious, which was rareโ€“he didnโ€™t have his usual playful vibe. You could even clearly hear his anger toward Alaricka and his nervousness about Roschelle in his voice. Roschelle looked up, her red eyes staring at Patrick with a hurt, pitiful look.

โ€œItโ€™s okay, you didnโ€™t have to worry about meโ€ฆโ€

โ€œJust thatโ€ฆโ€

Patrick lowered his voice and said, โ€œYou talk.โ€

Roschelle went before Alaricka in the prelims. With Roschelleโ€™s level, passing the prelims was a sure thing, no doubt about it.
