Chapter 219
Roschelle chuckled and took the chicken soup, drinking it slowly, one sip at a time.
Marlene looked at the nearly finished chicken soup, a smile in her eyes. But then she suddenly thought of something, and the smile slowly disappeared.
After Roschelle finished her chicken soup, Marlene thoughtfully took the empty bowl and put it away, then frowned and said:
โWhat exactly happened this time? I heard it was Alarieka who pushed you down.โ
Roschelleโs eyes flickered, then she said softly, โMrs. Argent, it wasnโt what you thought.โ
Marlene grew suspicious and couldnโt let it go: โWhat was it like, then?โ
Roschelle said softly, โI think Alarieka didnโt mean it; sheโs still youngโฆโ
Marlene frowned, sounding even more anxious, and said sharply, โHow is she still a kid? I remember sheโs already an adult. You donโt have to make excuses for her. Donโt I know whatโs going on?โ
โThis Alarieka, ever since she moved into the Argentโs villa, I could tell she was up to no good. See, just like I thought, she made a mess of the Argent family. Now sheโs left the Argent family, but itโs still the same. She just wonโt go away, like a bad penny!โ
Roschelle felt happy inside, but on the outside, she put on a helpless and worried look.
She leaned over, grabbed Marleneโs arm, and patted it gently with her palm.
โMrs. Argent, donโt worry. I believe Alarieka will get better when she grows up.โ
Marlene spoke firmly: โAbsolutely not. She had bad intentions and secretly liked Kier. She must have wanted to marry Kier a long time ago. She was vain, didnโt know how to behave properly, and was always daydreaming.โ
Roschelleโs smile faded a little.
Marlene looked serious. โThis Alarieka dared to do something like this today. Who knows what else she might do in the future? We have to deal with this once and for all.โ
As she spoke, Marlene suddenly turned around and gently tapped Roschelleโs arm, looking at her a bit helplessly.
โYou too; you canโt always spoil Alarieka like that. If you keep spoiling her, one day sheโd end up walking all over you and bossing you around.โ
Roschelle lowered her head and hid the look in her eyes.
Marlene said, โRose, I know youโre kind, but not everyone is as decent and thoughtful as you. You should be a bit wary of Alarieka. You canโt let Alarieka do this kind of thing again.โ
โNot just you, Kier too.โ
Roschelleโs cheeks turned a little red.
She remembered that after she and Alarieka fell into the pool, Kieran and Patrick both came to save her first and didnโt care about Alarieka.
And Kieran and Patrick only went to save Alarieka just because they wanted to blame someone and then remembered there was still an Alarieka in the water.
And there was also that charm you said youโd give to the one you loved.
She used to doubt Kieranโs feelings, but from now on, she probably wouldnโt doubt them anymore.
Sure enough, Kieran only had her in his heart.
She felt happy and whispered, โMrs. Argent, Kier was really nice to me.โ
Marlene raised her finger and poked her forehead, saying helplessly, โYou call this fine? Youโre not even close.โ
Roschelle bit her lip shyly and didnโt say anything.
Marleneโs voice turned cold, โThere are some things you canโt say, so Iโll say them.โ
โToday, I was going to make Kier give me an explanation, and I absolutely couldnโt let Alarieka show up around here again. I had to put an end to it.โ
Roschelle rested her head on Marleneโs shoulder: โI listened to you.โ
Marlene thought coldly.
The baby in Roschelleโs belly was the precious grandson of the Argent family.
Alarieka messed with Roschelle, so how was that any different from messing with the Argent familyโs precious grandson?
Since Alarieka already got to this point, we really couldnโt let her stay anymore.
Marlene had a fierce look in her eyes.
It wasnโt long before the doorbell rang.
Roschelle guessed who was outside, her cheeks growing even redder: โIt should be Kier coming back.โ
Marlene patted her arm, helped her lie down, and thoughtfully pulled up the blanket. She said gently, โYou have the semifinals tomorrow; get ready. Iโll talk to Kier, and Iโll definitely give you an answer after that.โ
Roschelle smiled softly, โOkay, thank you, Mrs. Argent.โ
Marlene turned around and left, pulling the door open.
It was Kieran standing outside the door.
Kieran saw that his mom didnโt look happy and that she just came out of Roschelleโs room, so he pretty much guessed what it was about.
Marlene gave him an annoyed look and walked past him: โCome with me. Donโt bother Rose tonight. I need to talk to you.โ
