Chapter 279

Director Li said with an awkward smile: โ€œIt was my fault for not recognizing her. I didnโ€™t know this young lady was Mr. Argentโ€™s sister. Iโ€™ve offended you greatly.โ€

Even when saying this, Director Li was facing Kieran. Alarieka stood behind him, watching coldly.

โ€œAs for the situation with this matter, I, I alsoโ€“โ€ Director Li turned back and glared fiercely at the woman and the little boy. โ€œYou tell me, what exactly happened?โ€

The little boy burst into tears instantly, hiding behind the woman and wailing uncontrollably. He clutched her clothes with both hands: โ€œMommy, Mommy, Iโ€™m so scaredโ€ฆโ€

The woman forced a smile, gathering the boy into her arms. She murmured softly: โ€œItโ€™sโ€ฆ itโ€™s just like I said. Y-yes, she splashed water on my son. I didnโ€™t say anything wrong.โ€

Rose frowned, adopting an exasperated expression as she looked toward Kieran: โ€œKieran?โ€

Kieranโ€™s voice dropped low: โ€œAlarieka, you explain.โ€

The woman immediately bit her lip, gazing at Kieran with pitiful eyes: โ€œMr. Argentโ€“โ€

โ€œWasnโ€™t me.โ€

Alariekaโ€™s voice cut through, cool and decisive, slicing off the womanโ€™s words.

The womanโ€™s face stiffened. She turned her head, and from an angle hidden from Kieranโ€™s view, shot Alarieka a venomous glare.

Kieran nodded, his reply clipped: โ€œAlright.โ€

That single word carried layers of meaning, instantly understood by those present. The hospital directorโ€™s face paled to an ashen white.

Kieran stated bluntly: โ€œDirector Li, I require an explanation.โ€

Director Li stammered hastily: โ€œMr. Argent, there must be some misunderstanding here! We can clear this up easily. I only just arrived myself, I donโ€™t know what theyโ€™ve been doing!โ€

The womanโ€™s face also drained of color. Given how deferential her uncle was toward Mr. Argent, this situation was likely serious, serious enough that her uncle, the hospital director, couldnโ€™t handle it.

Suddenly, her uncle yanked her forward.

She heard him betray her without hesitation: โ€œMr. Argent, this trouble was caused by my niece. I know someone like your sister would never do such a thing. So it must be my nieceโ€™s fault. Rest assured, Mr. Argent, I will resolve this. I wonโ€™t show favoritism. I will give this young lady an explanation.โ€

The woman whispered, stunned: โ€œUncle?โ€

Seeing Kieran remained silent, Director Li grabbed the woman again, pulling her before Alarieka. He pressed his hand firmly on the back of her neck, forcing her into a bow toward Alarieka.

โ€œApologize! Apologize to this young lady!โ€ Director Li commanded sternly.

Bent over under the pressure, the woman lifted her head dazedly to look at Alarieka.

Abruptly, her eyes seemed to sting.

Alariekaโ€™s gaze was calm, yet the woman felt certain she saw mockery there, as if Alarieka was laughing at her expense.

Recalling everything that had just happened, fury surged through the woman. She immediately shook off her uncleโ€™s hand.

โ€œI did nothing wrong! Why should I apologize? It was her hot water that scalded my son! She hasnโ€™t apologized! Why should I?โ€

Director Li instantly looked toward Kieran in panic. Catching the clear displeasure in Kieranโ€™s eyes, his own face darkened: โ€œI told you to apologize, so apologize! Stop wasting words!โ€

The woman drew a deep breath: โ€œI wonโ€™t apologize!โ€

Alarieka gave a soft, derisive snort: โ€œThen letโ€™s check the surveillance footage. See how your son ran over and crashed into someone with a limp. See how he knocked over my thermos. See how he reaped what he sowed.โ€

The womanโ€™s mouth snapped shut suddenly.

Kieran said: โ€œSo thatโ€™s how it was.โ€

Director Liโ€™s eyes filled with despair as he looked at the woman, his gaze practically willing her dead.

The woman kept her head bowed, not daring to meet his eyes.

Chapter 280

Kieran suddenly walked over, brushed past the directorโ€™s shoulder, grabbed the handles of Alariekaโ€™s wheelchair with both hands, and said softly, โ€œIโ€™ll have my assistant contact you.โ€

With that, Kieran pushed Alariekaโ€™s wheelchair past them without a glance.

He paused just before exiting.

Director Li thought heโ€™d relented and hurriedly said, โ€œMr. Argent, will you hear me out now?โ€

Kieran replied coldly, โ€œClean this floor. Bring a new thermos.โ€

Director Li nodded eagerly, โ€œYes, yes, of course.โ€

Kieran turned, his gaze dark and razor-sharp. โ€œUse your own bodies. Get on the floor and wipe it clean with your clothes. If I spot one dirty patchโ€“โ€ his voice dropped, icy and absolute, โ€œโ€“youโ€™ll lick it clean.โ€

His tone brooked no argument, low and cold yet crushing.

Director Li and the woman froze.

The woman stared at the trampled water stains, aghast. Use our bodies to clean this? Impossible! Sheโ€™d never endured such humiliation. โ€œWhat for?โ€ she spat. โ€œYour sister spilled it! I wonโ€™tโ€“โ€

Director Li yanked her wrist, shoving her behind him. โ€œHave you lost your mind? Shut up!โ€

She gaped at him. โ€œUncle, did you hear him? He wants us crawling onโ€“โ€
