Chapter 329

Absolutely because of Roschelle.

Perhaps Kieran realized it too.

She watched the phone in his hand. Roschelleโ€™s voice kept spilling through as Kieran patiently comforted her.

Slowly, defiance and mischief sparked in Alariekaโ€™s eyes.

Deliberately leaning toward the phone, she pitched her voice high and shrill: โ€œKier, when are you taking me back? Iโ€™m getting impatient.โ€

Instantly, Roschelleโ€™s voice cut off. Kieran frowned at her.

Alarieka raised a challenging brow at him, a sardonic smile playing on her lips.

Kieranโ€™s gaze darkened, sharpening like blades.

On the line, Roschelleโ€™s voice turned shrill: โ€œKieran? Is Alarieka with you?โ€

โ€œYou went to her?โ€

Abruptly, she paused, seeming to check herself. Her tone instantly softened, pitiful: โ€œKieranโ€ฆ youโ€™d rather be with her than see me?โ€

โ€œThe baby and Iโ€ฆ weโ€™re both so miserableโ€ฆโ€

Kieran fixed Alarieka with an icy stare, yet his voice gentled as he coaxed Roschelle: โ€œIโ€™m coming to you now. If you feel unwell, sit down somewhere. Iโ€™ll be there soon.โ€

Rose asked cautiously, โ€œKieran, why did you go see Alarieka? Is there something between you?โ€

At that moment, Kieranโ€™s armโ€“rigid as stone moments beforeโ€“suddenly went slack. Alarieka gave a light push, and his arm slid from her waist.

Kieran narrowed his eyes, rubbing his temples with fingertips. โ€œJust ran into her. Donโ€™t overthink it.โ€

Roseโ€™s voice trembled. โ€œButโ€ฆ she sounded so close to youโ€ฆโ€

Alarieka stood two meters away, watching Kieran with icy detachment.

Kieran ignored Roseโ€™s question. โ€œFind somewhere to wait, or rest in my office. Iโ€™ll take you to the hospital later.โ€

Rose murmured, โ€œAlrightโ€ฆ but hurryโ€ฆโ€

Suddenly, before hanging up, her voice sharpened with emphasis: โ€œKieran, I only want to see you come alone. Okay?โ€

Alarieka arched an eyebrow. Roseโ€™s implication couldnโ€™t be clearer.

Kieran shot her a glance and agreed swiftly. โ€œFine.โ€

After hanging up, Alarieka clapped sharply, the sound crisp. โ€œMr. Argent and your fiancee are so devoted. Canโ€™t wait for your engagement.โ€

Kieran pocketed his phone, voice low with warning. โ€œIโ€™ll have the school notified. Dropping out? Forget it.โ€

Alarieka smiled faintly. โ€œSure. Whatever you say if you can pull it off.โ€

โ€œDonโ€™t try anything. Iโ€™ll fetch you tomorrow. Guards will watch this place tonight.โ€

With Rose urging him, Kieran threw down these words and strode away.

Alarieka watched his retreating back, eyes dimming. She turned, braced against the wall, and stumbled into the room.

Tamika rushed to support her, voice thick with concern. โ€œAlarieka, we must leave now. Who knows what Kieran will do to you next?โ€

Alarieka froze slightly. Sheโ€™d considered fleeing when Kieran arrivedโ€”but hadnโ€™t expected Tamika to share the thought.

She gave a soft nod. โ€œTomorrow. Weโ€™ll pack tonight. Iโ€™ll book a morning flight.โ€

Tamika nodded urgently. โ€œSit. Iโ€™ll finish packing now.โ€

Alarieka paused. โ€œBut thereโ€™s one last thing.โ€

Tamika frowned. โ€œWhat else?โ€

Alarieka pressed her lips. โ€œI need to go out. Be back soon.โ€

Tamika hesitated. โ€œWant company?โ€

Alarieka shook her head. โ€œIโ€™ll go alone.โ€

Though puzzled, Tamika didnโ€™t object. โ€œโ€ฆAlright. But hurry. Itโ€™s late.โ€

Alarieka planned to leave with Jaylene and her grandmother. She texted Jaylene: โ€œLeaving tomorrow morning.โ€

Jaylene replied instantly. โ€œReady. Can go anytime.โ€

Everything was setโ€”except for Kieran.

Alarieka stared at a new text on her phone, pupils flickering.

Half an hour later, she sat inside the restaurantโ€™s highly private VIP Lounge, watching the server push the door open as the manager respectfully assisted Mr. Argent inside.

She remained seated, calmly and quietly observing Mr. Argent take the position across from her.

Before coming, Alarieka Huston had already explained everything to Wallace Argent, so there was no need to repeat it.

She got straight to the point: โ€œWallace, what do you think?โ€
