Chapter 350
Alariekaโs scores were incredible.
Amazed but suspicious after hearing the story from the principal, nearly every available teacher crowded into his office.
Each teacher crafted airtight questions at mock-exam difficulty, ensuring no leaks this time. If Alarieka solved these, itโd prove her skill.
After the gray-shirted teacher left, others followed.
David sat back in his office chair and looked up. โStart writing. Iโll watch.โ
Without a word, Alarieka picked up her pen and began.
The test wasnโt longโjust two questions per subject. She finished in under two hours.
David watched her put down her pen, then took the papers.
Alarieka flexed her wrist. โShould I wait here for the results?โ
Chen Daoyuan was intently studying the math problems, his expression gradually freezing in complete absorption as he examined the answers Alarieka had written down. He didnโt even notice her speaking.
Alarieka patiently repeated herself.
Only then did Chen Daoyuan snap back to attention. โNโno need. Iโll grade your math now. The other subjects will have to wait for their teachers. Class is almost over anyway,โ he said.
Propping her chin on her elbow, Alarieka watched Chen Daoyuan take a red pen and meticulously mark her answers.
He placed checkmarks beside every sub-question of the two major problems. Not a single one was wrong.
Alarieka had expected this and wasnโt particularly surprised.
Seeing the flawlessly correct processes and answers, Chen Daoyuan finally accepted that Alarieka genuinely had the skills.
Though he was a math teacher unfamiliar with other subjects, glancing at her answers for those, he instinctively felt they were correct too.
Slowly, a thrill bubbled up inside him. His expression when looking at Alarieka grew increasingly astonished.
Could it be true? Had fortune truly smiled upon him? Heโd actually gained an outstanding student for free โ one whose abilities might even surpass those of the students the school had paid top dollar for!
This was real.
It wasnโt hard to imagine: if Alarieka competed representing their school, their National College Entrance Examination results would gain a spectacular highlight.
Heck, the National Exam Top Scorer might even come from their school.
Chen Daoyuan kept all this to himself. His expression remained appropriately stern. After all, the student was sitting right across from him, and as a teacher, he needed to maintain a serious demeanor. Anything less would be unprofessional.
Alarieka, however, saw his face flicker through excitement, then sternness, and finally, what looked like an uncontrollable urge to smile โ his lips twitching uncontrollably at the corners before breaking into an actual grin.
It seemed like the muscles in Chen Daoyuanโs face were spasming.
Alarieka: ?
Watching his repeatedly twitching lips and ever-changing expressions, Alarieka spoke up, โTeacher, is your face cramping?โ
Chen Daoyuanโs expression instantly froze. He glared at her. โWhat are you talking about?โ
Alarieka pursed her lips and fell silent.
The bell rang, signaling the end of class. Teachers began filing into the office one by one.
Alarieka remained seated in her chair, quietly observing the various teachers with their differing expressions as they graded her test papers.
Chen Daoyuan leaned in and asked in a low voice, โHowโs it looking?โ
Alarieka perked up her ears, catching the phrase โall correct.โ She raised an eyebrow.
After checking the grading results from several teachers, Chen Daoyuan walked back and stood behind his desk. The other teachers positioned themselves behind Alarieka, staring at her with intense curiosity, their gazes burning like spectators at a zoo.
Chen Daoyuan cleared his throat a few times, deliberately suppressing the excitement in his voice to project steadiness. โYouโve done commendable work. All answers are correct.โ
