Chapter 372
Staring at the grimy bin inches away, Shi Yao wrinkled his nose in disgust, his handsome features contorting.
He turned away briefly, waiting.
Calculating the menโs speed, he cautiously peered out while covering his nose.
He frowned instantly.
The men still lingered by the cafe, scanning the area.
Shi Yaoโs momentary glance was caught; their eyes snapped toward him.
Three gazes locked.
Shi Yao didnโt hesitateโhe dashed off. From the corner of his eye, he saw both men charging toward him.
Well-trained, they possessed exceptional stamina, speed, and physical prowess.
Though fit from regular exercise, Shi Yao couldnโt match professionals.
He glanced back.
The gap between them had narrowed significantly.
This wouldnโt do.
Shi Yao scanned his surroundings, then abruptly veered across the street. He rushed toward a corner, vanishing from view before doubling back.
Rounding the block, he spotted a shopโs back entrance.
With no time to spare, he burst through the door and slammed it shut behind him.
He looked up to find kitchen staff staring at him, dumbfounded.
A manager approached with an understanding smile. โSir, how may I assist you?โ
Shi Yao straightened, chin slightly raised. โIโm a guest.โ
The manager nodded, gesturing toward the front. โThis way, please.โ
Following him, Shi Yao surveyed the familiar-looking dining area. His gaze halted on a girl in the corner.
So this was the place.
As the manager seated him at an empty table, he asked, โAre you expecting someone?โ
Shi Yao cleared his throat, nodding toward Alarieka. โI want that seat. Sheโs my friend.โ
The manager glanced back. โOf course. Feel free to join her. Anything else I can get you?โ
Shi Yao shook his head. โNo, Iโll just head over.โ
He strode toward her immediately, leaving the manager frozen with a stiff smile.
Shi Yaoโs eyes locked onto Alarieka.
She was listening intently to the guy beside her, their shoulders nearly touching. Shi Yaoโs eyes blazed.
Alarieka, who just days ago claimed to like him, has already shifted her affection to another manโutterly fickle!
Not a shred of loyalty!
Clearly, he was right to reject her.
Heโd never fall for a woman whose heart changes so easily!
He walked over, his gaze scouring Alariekaโs face like a whip.
Alarieka listened intently to Nie Guanyuโs lecture, completely unaware of the scowling man approaching her with eyes ablaze.
โAlarieka, what are you doing?โ
The voice took her a beat to register before she looked up.
Victorโs stunningly handsome face twisted with fury, his eyes burning with disgust and rage as if sheโd committed some unforgivable betrayal.
Alarieka: ?
Jaylene and Nie Guanyu followed her gaze, momentarily blinded by Victorโs dazzlingly handsome features.
Shi Yao stormed over to Nie Guanyu with a scowl, demanding bluntly: โMove. Iโm sitting here.โ
Alarieka: โฆ
โWhat?โ Alarieka scoffed. โShi Yao, have you lost your mind?โ
Shi Yao shot her a glare, expression darkening further. โGet up.โ
Nie Guanyu scratched his head, hesitantly asking Alarieka: โShould I move?โ
Alarieka pursed her lips. โIgnore him.โ
Nie Guanyu nodded earnestly. โOkay.โ
Shi Yao nearly exploded with rage.
He sneered coldly. โAlarieka, is this how you treat me?โ
Alarieka ignored him.
Shi Yao dropped a bombshell: โDid you forget confessing to me days ago? Memoryโs that short?โ
Nie Guanyu and Jaylene froze instantly.
Alarieka stared at him, stunned.
Damn itโthis jerk was ruining her reputation again.
Shi Yaoโs voice carried, drawing curious stares from nearby customers, their eyes eager for gossip.
Jaylene blinked frantically at Alarieka.
Whatโs going on?
Confession?
Such a hottieโwhy havenโt you introduced us?
Wow, I never knew you liked a guy this hot!
