Staring at the grimy bin inches away, Shi Yao wrinkled his nose in disgust, his handsome features contorting.

He turned away briefly, waiting.

Calculating the men’s speed, he cautiously peered out while covering his nose.

He frowned instantly.

The men still lingered by the cafe, scanning the area.

Shi Yao’s momentary glance was caught; their eyes snapped toward him.

Three gazes locked.

Shi Yao didn’t hesitate–he dashed off. From the corner of his eye, he saw both men charging toward him.

Well-trained, they possessed exceptional stamina, speed, and physical prowess.

Though fit from regular exercise, Shi Yao couldn’t match professionals.

He glanced back.

The gap between them had narrowed significantly.

This wouldn’t do.

Shi Yao scanned his surroundings, then abruptly veered across the street. He rushed toward a corner, vanishing from view before doubling back.

Rounding the block, he spotted a shop’s back entrance.

With no time to spare, he burst through the door and slammed it shut behind him.

He looked up to find kitchen staff staring at him, dumbfounded.

A manager approached with an understanding smile. “Sir, how may I assist you?”

Shi Yao straightened, chin slightly raised. “I’m a guest.”

The manager nodded, gesturing toward the front. “This way, please.”

Following him, Shi Yao surveyed the familiar-looking dining area. His gaze halted on a girl in the corner.

So this was the place.

As the manager seated him at an empty table, he asked, “Are you expecting someone?”

Shi Yao cleared his throat, nodding toward Alarieka. “I want that seat. She’s my friend.”

The manager glanced back. “Of course. Feel free to join her. Anything else I can get you?”

Shi Yao shook his head. “No, I’ll just head over.”

He strode toward her immediately, leaving the manager frozen with a stiff smile.

Shi Yao’s eyes locked onto Alarieka.

She was listening intently to the guy beside her, their shoulders nearly touching. Shi Yao’s eyes blazed.

Alarieka, who just days ago claimed to like him, has already shifted her affection to another man–utterly fickle!

Not a shred of loyalty!

Clearly, he was right to reject her.

He’d never fall for a woman whose heart changes so easily!

He walked over, his gaze scouring Alarieka’s face like a whip.

Alarieka listened intently to Nie Guanyu’s lecture, completely unaware of the scowling man approaching her with eyes ablaze.

“Alarieka, what are you doing?”

The voice took her a beat to register before she looked up.

Victor’s stunningly handsome face twisted with fury, his eyes burning with disgust and rage as if she’d committed some unforgivable betrayal.

Jaylene and Nie Guanyu followed her gaze, momentarily blinded by Victor’s dazzlingly handsome features.

Shi Yao stormed over to Nie Guanyu with a scowl, demanding bluntly: “Move. I’m sitting here.”

“What?” Alarieka scoffed. “Shi Yao, have you lost your mind?”

Shi Yao shot her a glare, expression darkening further. “Get up.”

Nie Guanyu scratched his head, hesitantly asking Alarieka: “Should I move?”

Alarieka pursed her lips. “Ignore him.”

Nie Guanyu nodded earnestly. “Okay.”

Shi Yao nearly exploded with rage.

He sneered coldly. “Alarieka, is this how you treat me?”

Alarieka ignored him.

Shi Yao dropped a bombshell: “Did you forget confessing to me days ago? Memory’s that short?”

Nie Guanyu and Jaylene froze instantly.

Alarieka stared at him, stunned.

Damn it–this jerk was ruining her reputation again.

Shi Yao’s voice carried, drawing curious stares from nearby customers, their eyes eager for gossip.

Jaylene blinked frantically at Alarieka.
