Chapter 59
The girl in front of me was wearing a revealing black lace mini dress, with just two thin pieces of fabric covering her chest and hips. The slender, fair waist and long legs were all on display, and the smooth skin, almost glowing white in the dark, seemed to give off endless charm. Even though the girl still looked young, she was enough to stand out among all the ordinary women.
Antoine pushed the woman in his arms away and reached out to Alarieka: โCome here, let me have a good look at you.โ
Alarieka glanced at him, then stubbornly lowered her head to look at Kieran. Her voice was strained: โKieran, what will it take for you to let Ms. Wright go?โ
Kieranโs hand moved, and he slowly looked up, his eyes scanned her from head to toe, then he pulled at the corner of his mouth, looking like he didnโt take her seriously again. โNice clothes. Before I came, my assistant already told you, right?โ
Alarieka clenched her fists. It was just an exchange. Antoine was probably the one who switched with Kieran, and if she agreed, she would really end up with Antoine. Antoine was a well-known playboy in the circle. Today, he was in bed with this woman, and tomorrow it could be another woman. Maybe he had several women or men at the same time. She didnโt want to.
โWhat Ms. Wright and I did have nothing to do with each other, why did you go after her? If you have a problem, come at me, Iโll take responsibility for what I did!โ
Kieranโs dark eyes looked cold, sharp, and sarcastic. โIf you donโt want to, then get out.โ
Alariekaโs face looked pale. Antoine let out a chuckle, โI told you, Alarieka, you know this guy only has eyes for Roschelle. Stick with me, and donโt mention Ms. Wright or anyone elseโI could help you with anyone.โ
Alarieka still didnโt move. Kieran put down the glass and didnโt look at her anymore. โI gave you three more seconds. Stay or leave, your choice.โ
โThreeโฆโ
โTwoโฆโ
In the end, Alarieka gave in, โYou have to promise, after tonight, youโll leave Ms. Wright alone.โ
Kieran didnโt respond. Alarieka lifted her foot and walked toward Antoine.
Antoineโs face lit up with a big smile, and he opened his arms, motioning for Alarieka to come over for a hug. Alarieka just sat next to him, awkwardly putting her hands on her legs. Antoine smiled carelessly and handed the glass to her. โI really didnโt think Mr. Argent would be willing to trade you and let you spend a night with me.โ
Alarieka just held the wine glass in her hand and, being cautious, didnโt drink. Antoine suddenly raised his hand and pulled her into his arms: โAlright, alright, donโt be nervous, Iโll take good care of you tonight.โ
โMr. Gomez.โ Kieran suddenly spoke, his voice low and sharp.
Alariekaโs heart tightened. A dark glint flashed in Antoineโs eyes: โOh? Is Mr. Argent feeling sorry for Alarieka and doesnโt want to give her up?โ
Kieran scoffed, โNo, itโs just that Rose is here. I have to pick her up this afternoon, so Iโll excuse myself first.โ
Antoine raised an eyebrow: โGo ahead.โ
Roschelle walked in wearing a nice long dress, smiling gently: โHi, everyone.โ She held onto Kieranโs arm, her surprised and sympathetic eyes falling on Alarieka. โHow come Ms. Huston was here?โ
Roschelleโs arrival made Alarieka even more uneasy. She almost tore the fabric on her thigh. Antoine smiled and put his arm around Alariekaโs shoulders, โThis wasโฆ my date for tonight.โ Antoine smiled and took her hand. โAlright, let me take you back to your room, okay?โ
Alarieka opened her mouth, but another man cut him off.
โRose,โ the man said in a flattering tone, โI heard about what happened yesterday. I really didnโt expect you to be Lindsey. Those people online and some others were just too much. It made me mad just watching.โ The man looked at Alarieka with meaning in his eyes, his gaze mocking and sarcastic, โSee, Mr. Argent was already standing up for you.โ
The people who stayed around the scions and ladies were all slick and worldly, always going with the flow. It wasnโt just Alarieka, and it wasnโt just the Argent familyโeveryone knew about Kieranโs special treatment and favoritism toward Roschelle. These people knew how important Roschelle was to Kieran. If they couldnโt get anywhere with Kieran, they would just try to please Roschelle like they were doing now. Pleasing Roschelle was just pleasing Kieran.
When Alarieka heard Lindseyโs name, her heart tightened, and the hatred inside her almost drowned her. I stepped over Ninaโs dead body to get ahead before, and in this life, I stole Lindseyโs identity in public.
