Chapter 1023
Debra was too smart to fool.
Marion sighed, โCan I lie?โ
โNo, you canโt,โ Debra replied firmly.
Marion pulled out his phone and showed her the call log. At the top of the list was a call from an unknown number from last night. But to Debra, that number was all too familiar. โJuan self-directed that show?โ
Barton stepped into Andrewโs room, clearly troubled. โSir, you have to step in and do something.โ
โHe told her himself,โ Andrew replied blandly. โI didnโt force him.โ
โBut Mr. Houston is going to destroy everything in the house.โ
Andrew rubbed his temples, regretting bringing these people to his house.
โTake me to him.โ
โYes, sir.โ
Barton wheeled Andrew to the hallway, and they saw Marion sitting in the living room. Darts were thrown at a glass vase worth five figures. A second later, the vase shattered into pieces. As Marion went to pick up a knife from the table, Barton rushed up to stop him. โMr. Houston, you canโt throw that.โ
โWho said I was going to throw it?โ Marion casually picked up an apple and began peeling it with the knife.
Barton glanced at the living room, now a chaotic mess. The maids were frantically cleaning up.
โIf you want to break things, do it at your own house. Stop wrecking mine,โ Andrew said, noting Marionโs bad mood. โYou told her yourself. Canโt blame others.โ
The apple peel in Marionโs hand snapped. He shot Andrew a cold glare. โI wanted to lie but didnโt dare.โ
โWhere is Debra?โ Andrew asked. โOh, thatโs right. She mustโve gone to find Juan. Otherwise, you wouldnโt be here tearing apart my house.โ
Marion abruptly drove the knife into the apple. The blade struck with such force that it penetrated not only the apple but also the platter beneath it.

โMy bad,โ he said. โI slipped.โ
He got up and stormed upstairs. That was indeed a slip. Heโd been itching to send that knife straight into Andrewโs smug mouth.
Barton inspected the platter and table. The knife had pierced halfway into the wood beneath the glass.
โSir, the tableโs ruined.โ
โPut it on the tab. Debra will pay for it.โ
โSir, what if she finds Juan?โ
โShe wonโt.โ
Juan wouldnโt show up to meet Debra. That was why he hadnโt bothered stopping Marion from spilling the beans. This whole scheme wasnโt meant to deceive Debra but to shape public opinion. The narrative was already set. Whether Debra knew the truth or not didnโt matter. Enough people had seen Juan attacking her with a knife. Marion had been injured during the process and sent to the hospital. By the time the date on the contract was due, Juan would no longer be fit to remain the CEO of the Nichols Group.
