Chapter 1092
If anyone had checked, they would have known the invitation wasnโt meant for Drake. Luckily, the Houston family didnโt want to make a scene and let them in. Outside the venue, the robbed guest sighed in the cold and left. He was late, giving Drake a chance to take his invitation. It was unbelievable that a famous man like Drake would stoop so low to rob others.
Backstage, Debra sat as the artist touched up her makeup. Once it was done, Erica asked, โHave you memorized the ceremony flow? Want to go over the script again?โ Debra saw her nervousness in the mirror and laughed, โWhy are you even more nervous than me?โ
โBecause Iโve never been a bridesmaid before. What if I mess up on stage?โ Erica worried. โYou wonโt. Bridesmaids donโt even have to speak,โ Debra reassured her.
Just then, footsteps sounded outside. Debra looked over and saw Garland and Liza coming in. โWhat are you doing here instead of staying at the main table?โ Erica asked.
โItโs my brother. He said he couldnโt eat,โ Liza explained.
โWhy not?โ Erica asked, puzzled. Garland usually ate like a horse. She had thought those dishes on the table wouldnโt be enough for him.
โIโm just not hungry, okay?โ he mumbled.
โItโs because of Drake, right? I bet heโs like me. We lose our appetite seeing that guy,โ Liza said.
Debra chimed in, โDrake is here?โ
โYep, heard he got an invitation, so he showed up,โ Liza grumbled. โWhy did you guys even invite him? The concert had to stop because of him.โ
โConcert?โ
โYeah, there was a concert. Very lively.โ
Debra face-palmed, incredulous about such an arrangement. Erica tried to comfort her. โCaleb just likes excitement. The concert was probably to please us young folks. The entrance was a bit over the top, but we could overlook that part.โ
Debra replied, โThe wedding is just a formality to me. If everyone enjoys it, thatโs good.โ

Erica relaxed but then suddenly remembered something. โBy the way, whereโs Randy?โ
โProbably with Marion. Oh right, Iโm a groomsman too. Sorry, wrong room,โ Garland said, rushing out.
โThe bride and groom are coming. Get ready!โ someone shouted from outside.
Debraโs heart, which had been calm, suddenly raced: Even though the wedding was just a formality, it was her first real one. This time she would be happy.
