Chapter 1106

The bodyguards grabbed Robert, who had been stabbed in the lower abdomen. Erica intended to hit him again, but Debra quickly shouted, “Randy, call an ambulance.”

“On it,” Randy dialed the emergency number right away.

Debra glanced at Drake, who looked troubled. “Marion got injured at your place. I demand an explanation.”

Drake knew she misunderstood, but he was unwilling to bow his head. “I’ve always wanted to kill Marion. I did this. Come for an explanation anytime you want.”

“Boss…” Kale tried to intervene.

“Shut up!” Drake snapped. “You can take Marion away. We’ll settle this score another day.”

He turned and left with Kale.

Debra didn’t have time to deal with Drake. She looked down at the unconscious Marion, feeling anxious. This was the first time she had seen him so badly injured.

Outside, Kale couldn’t help but ask, “Boss, this has nothing to do with you. Why did you take the blame?”

“She already thinks I’m involved,” Drake replied. “It doesn’t matter if I admit it or not. Besides, I meant what I said. I’d be happy if Marion were dead.”

He halted his steps and added, “Call the nearest hospital to send an ambulance. Don’t let him die so easily.”

“Yes, boss.”

Debra rode in the ambulance with Marion. When they arrived at the hospital, the doctors arranged by Drake quickly began emergency surgery.

Erica tried to reassure her. “Don’t worry. Marion will be fine. He has cheated death so many times. This poison is nothing to him.”

Randy chimed in, “By the way, how did you spot a problem with the food cart?”

Debra explained, “I don’t like cheese, and I don’t drink coffee in the morning. Marion knows, but he still sent a cheese sandwich and coffee. I checked the surveillance footage and saw the guy who stabbed Marion in the hotel lobby.”

Robert’s appearance stood out and was easy to recall. She had seen him back in the coffee shop but never expected him to work for Theda. Neither had she expected Theda to send him to kill Marion.

She looked at the door of the operating room, determined to avenge Marion.

A doctor approached her. “Mrs. Houston, we found snake venom in the food. This toxin paralyzes the nervous system and can be fatal.”

Debra understood the situation. Robert was trying to kill them all.

“Where is the killer now?” she asked.

A bodyguard replied, “He’s being held in a hotel room under guard. He can’t escape.”

“Take me to him,” Debra ordered.

Erica asked, “Aren’t you waiting for Marion to wake up?”
