Chapter 122
Juan asked, โItโs said that after the incident, the inspection team came to the school once. It was a girl named Carrie, and she happens to be Miss Milesโ friend,โ Joe replied.
Juan frowned deeply. Joe probed, โMaybe this matter is related to Miss Miles. Should we consider investigating?โ
Juan rubbed his temples. Debra had been slandered and bullied, but she hadnโt told him anything. He wondered if he was so insignificant to her.
โSince the inspection team has already investigated, thereโs no need for further inquiry,โ Juan said blandly. โTell Shelia to stay away from those people. Donโt let them influence her negatively.โ
Joe wanted to say something, but seeing Juanโs expression, he could only agree. โWill do.โ
Debra led Erica into Building #2. Erica hadnโt expected Juan to eavesdrop, causing such a stir. โHe defended Shelia so blatantly in front of you. Itโs infuriating!โ
Erica was angry but more concerned about Debraโs situation. โYou just had a falling out with him. What are you going to do now?โ
Right now, Debra was still Juanโs wife, and this fallout meant she would suffer at the Nichols household.
Debra replied, โBefore, I didnโt want a fight with Juan, but who can be subservient forever? Iโm not going to keep my head down whenever I see him now.โ Her path forward was set. Whether she offended Juan or not was no longer important.
โErica? What brings you here?โ Randy emerged, wearing gold-rimmed glasses. Holding a stack of books, he looked like a scholar.
Erica glanced at his outfit and grinned, โI came to escort Debra to school. And youโre playing dress-up?โ
โThis is yuppie style!โ
โA yuppie or a jerk?โ
Randy was speechless.
While they were chatting, Debra put on her scarf to avoid trouble. If Randy saw it, he would definitely tell Marion. She didnโt know why, but she didnโt want Marion to know.
โMs. Frazier, donโt leave after school. Marion said he would come to pick you up.โ
โWhy?โ Debra had a vigilant look on her face.
โWhy? Itโs the opening of your company today. As the owner, you wonโt go?โ
Debra finally realized what was going on. Recently, she had been troubled by Juan and Shelia, leaving all the preparation work to Marion and Randy. She had forgotten that her company was opening today.
โCongratulations, Debra. You lose in the emotional field but win in the workplace. I will be the largest shareholder of your company,โ Erica exclaimed, patting her shoulder.
Randy muttered, โThe largest shareholder is not you.โ
Erica was puzzled. โWhat were you saying?โ
โI didnโt say anything,โ Randy said, whistling.
Debra smiled and shook her head. โBut I canโt go today.โ
โWhy?โ Randy was puzzled.
Erica knew why. Sure enough, at noon, Juanโs phone call came to the school. Juan didnโt contact Debra but asked the principal to pass the message. He wanted her to come home as soon as possible.
