Chapter 122

Juan asked, โ€œItโ€™s said that after the incident, the inspection team came to the school once. It was a girl named Carrie, and she happens to be Miss Milesโ€™ friend,โ€ Joe replied.

Juan frowned deeply. Joe probed, โ€œMaybe this matter is related to Miss Miles. Should we consider investigating?โ€

Juan rubbed his temples. Debra had been slandered and bullied, but she hadnโ€™t told him anything. He wondered if he was so insignificant to her.

โ€œSince the inspection team has already investigated, thereโ€™s no need for further inquiry,โ€ Juan said blandly. โ€œTell Shelia to stay away from those people. Donโ€™t let them influence her negatively.โ€

Joe wanted to say something, but seeing Juanโ€™s expression, he could only agree. โ€œWill do.โ€

Debra led Erica into Building #2. Erica hadnโ€™t expected Juan to eavesdrop, causing such a stir. โ€œHe defended Shelia so blatantly in front of you. Itโ€™s infuriating!โ€

Erica was angry but more concerned about Debraโ€™s situation. โ€œYou just had a falling out with him. What are you going to do now?โ€

Right now, Debra was still Juanโ€™s wife, and this fallout meant she would suffer at the Nichols household.

Debra replied, โ€œBefore, I didnโ€™t want a fight with Juan, but who can be subservient forever? Iโ€™m not going to keep my head down whenever I see him now.โ€ Her path forward was set. Whether she offended Juan or not was no longer important.

โ€œErica? What brings you here?โ€ Randy emerged, wearing gold-rimmed glasses. Holding a stack of books, he looked like a scholar.

Erica glanced at his outfit and grinned, โ€œI came to escort Debra to school. And youโ€™re playing dress-up?โ€

โ€œThis is yuppie style!โ€

โ€œA yuppie or a jerk?โ€

Randy was speechless.

While they were chatting, Debra put on her scarf to avoid trouble. If Randy saw it, he would definitely tell Marion. She didnโ€™t know why, but she didnโ€™t want Marion to know.

โ€œMs. Frazier, donโ€™t leave after school. Marion said he would come to pick you up.โ€

โ€œWhy?โ€ Debra had a vigilant look on her face.

โ€œWhy? Itโ€™s the opening of your company today. As the owner, you wonโ€™t go?โ€

Debra finally realized what was going on. Recently, she had been troubled by Juan and Shelia, leaving all the preparation work to Marion and Randy. She had forgotten that her company was opening today.

โ€œCongratulations, Debra. You lose in the emotional field but win in the workplace. I will be the largest shareholder of your company,โ€ Erica exclaimed, patting her shoulder.

Randy muttered, โ€œThe largest shareholder is not you.โ€

Erica was puzzled. โ€œWhat were you saying?โ€

โ€œI didnโ€™t say anything,โ€ Randy said, whistling.

Debra smiled and shook her head. โ€œBut I canโ€™t go today.โ€

โ€œWhy?โ€ Randy was puzzled.

Erica knew why. Sure enough, at noon, Juanโ€™s phone call came to the school. Juan didnโ€™t contact Debra but asked the principal to pass the message. He wanted her to come home as soon as possible.
