Chapter 179
Outside the door, the maid inserted the spare key, blocking any movement from within. โHelp!โ Debra cried, pounding on the door. Downstairs, blaring music drowned out any noise from upstairs. Rosalie, in a red dress, and Ralph were engrossed in an impromptu tango.
โDonโt bother. Today, youโre mine,โ Erick advanced.
Debra shoved him away, smashed a water glass, picked up a shard, and held it to her neck. โDonโt come any closer, or Iโll kill myself. Then all your scheming with Rosalie will be in vain.โ
Erick hesitated, realizing he couldnโt let Debra die. โDamn, you think you can threaten me?โ
He lunged forward to snatch the glass, but Debra didnโt give him a chance. Blood trickled from her neck, and Erick was startled, not daring to move closer.
Marion had been waiting outside the villa. As their agreed-upon time approached, he called Debra but got no answer. Glancing at the mansion, he spotted a woman leaning against a second-floor balcony, holding something. He recognized Debraโs silhouette and realized something was wrong.
He got out of the car and stormed into the villa, his heart pounding. โWho are you? This is private property, and youโre trespassing! Security!โ shouted the gardener upon seeing Marion rush in.
Before security arrived, Marion booted open the house door.
Inside, the music blared, and Ralph was tipsy. Marionโs entrance surprised everyone. Rosalie was stunned, and Stanleyโs face twisted with anger. If not for Marion, he wouldnโt have ended up in jail.
Ralph quickly turned off the music. โMr. Houston, what brings you here? This is a family gathering.โ
Marion ignored the distractions. His eyes remained fixed on the room where Debra was. Then, amidst everyoneโs shock, he rushed upstairs.
Fearing her planโs failure, Rosalie urgently yelled at security, โWhat are you waiting for? Stop him!โ
โYes, madam!โ Several guards rushed up as Marion located the source of Debraโs voice.
Outside the room, the maid looked terrified. โWho are you?โ
โDonโt come any closer! Get lost!โ Debraโs weak voice reached Marionโs ears.
His gaze sharpened. โOpen the door!โ
The maid trembled and reached to open it. Erick roared, โWho allowed you to open it? Youโre ruining everything!โ
Marion rushed in and knocked him over.
โWho the hell are you?โ Erick cursed.
He looked up and met Marionโs dark glare. His face paled, and his voice trembled.
โMr. Houston?โ
He found it hard to believe.
Debraโs tension dissolved when she saw Marion. The shard slipped from her hand, and she collapsed to the ground.
