Chapter 228
โOkay!โ
The security guards swiftly ushered away the women, who scattered at the sight of Hester.
โJuanโฆโ
Hester hurried to his side, her expression grim as she assessed his suit. โIโll get you a new one.โ
โNo need,โ Juanโs cold gaze swept over her. โJust make sure this doesnโt happen again.โ
Hester shifted uncomfortably under his stare. โI donโt understand what youโre saying.โ
Debra stepped forward, taking charge. โLetโs go back to our room so you can change.โ
Melody, having heard the disturbance, emerged from her room, her brow furrowed. โWhatโs going on out here?โ
Debra glanced at Hester before explaining. โSome of Michaelโs fans caused a scene at the door. They almost hurt Juan. Iโm not sure how they found their way here.โ
Melody, well-versed in the intricacies of their social circle, turned her gaze to Hester.
Hester panicked. โMrs. Nichols Sr., this has nothing to do with me.โ
โAlright,โ Melody said impatiently. โDebra, take Juan to change. Hester, come with me.โ
โYes,โ Hester obediently followed Melody into the room.
Back in their room, Debra pulled out a black suit from the wardrobe and handed it to Juan. โWhy did you shield me? What if they had thrown stones instead of eggs?โ
Juan began to unbutton his shirt, tossing it into a nearby trash bin. โItโs only natural for a husband to protect his wife.โ
Debra averted her gaze as he continued to undress. โWhat are you doing?โ
โI need a shower. Iโm covered in filth,โ Juan explained.
Debra frowned. โWait until I go out.โ
โIf you leave now, Grandma will suspect something. Sheโs downstairs.โ
โButโฆโ
Before she could finish her protest, Juan took the new clothes from her hand. โIโll be quick.โ
With that, he disappeared into the bathroom. The sound of rushing water filled the room. Debra sat down on the bed. Memories from her last time flooded her mind.
She remembered the night she wore Sheilaโs favorite white dress, nervously waiting on the bed for Juan to arrive. Melody had drugged him, and he seemed intoxicated. His eyes were hazy as he tore at her clothes, and they had their first intimate encounter. She whispered his name, but he kept murmuring Sheilaโs name. Juan treated her with the utmost tenderness. The second time that night, he had regained his senses and, believing she had drugged him, was rough and harsh. After that night, his attitude towards her changed. He became harsh and distant, venting his frustration by scheming against the Frazier family. Even when she became pregnant, he neglected her, ultimately leading to her tragic end on the operating table.
