Chapter 265
Shelia smiled triumphantly, crowing, โIโm carrying Juanโs child. Even if some people wear white dresses, they still canโt climb into a manโs bed. Theyโre useless.โ
Hester trembled with rage. Shelia sauntered towards the inner room, her voice dripping with disdain. โLet me see where your room is.โ
Hester, being the daughter of the Vargas family, had been given the best and largest guest room when Melody brought her. But even that paled in comparison to Debraโs room. Shelia had seen it once and decided that, sooner or later, she would make it her own. She looked down at her belly, a calculating gleam in her eyes.
โBaby, you need to make an effort,โ she cooed. โWhether I can become the hostess of the Nichols family depends on you.โ
As evening descended, Juan returned home to find the house completely transformed. His brow furrowed as he took in the changes. Sophie, urgently summoned by Melody, rushed to his side, relief etched on her face.
โSir, youโre finally back,โ she said, her eyes darting around the room uncertainly.
Juanโs frown deepened as he surveyed the new dรฉcor. The houseโs arrangements had been completely altered, and even the furniture replaced. Then he found Shelia massaging Melodyโs back on the sofa. He asked, โWho changed the layout of the house?โ This was Debra and his house, arranged exactly to Debraโs favorite style.
Shelia didnโt stop massaging Melodyโs back, and Melody replied indifferently, โSheโs gone, Juan. Why keep all those old things? Shelia was just worried you wouldnโt be able to move on. She meant well.โ
โWas it you?โ Juan sulked.
Shelia looked up at him, her eyes wide and innocent. โDebra is gone. You should move on.โ
Juan narrowed his eyes, his voice dropping to a low growl. โYou have three hours to restore the dรฉcor, or donโt blame me for being ruthless.โ
Shelia bit her lip, her eyes flicking to Melody.
Melody frowned and chastised Juan. โShelia is carrying your child. Donโt lose your temper over a few pieces of furniture. I wonโt allow you to make things difficult for Shelia. If sheโs wronged and the baby is hurt, itโll be a grave matter.โ
As the tension in the room thickened, there was a sudden pounding on the door.
โJuan! Open the door!โ Ralph shouted, while Rosalle tried in vain to hold him back.
โDarling, calm down. Donโt be so rash,โ she advised.
โGo away!โ Ralph snapped. He had been waiting for four days with no news about Debra.
Sophie opened the door, and he stormed inside. His eyes blazed with anger as he took in the new setup and Shelia standing beside Melody.
โJuan, I married Debra to you,โ he growled with rage. โLook at what youโve done. Debra has just gone missing, and youโre already eagerly bringing another woman home. What kind of husband are you?โ
Juan, usually so domineering, stood silent, letting Ralphโs accusations wash over him. But his silence only fueled Ralphโs anger. Ralph raised his hand and slapped him across the face.
