Chapter 265

Shelia smiled triumphantly, crowing, โ€œIโ€™m carrying Juanโ€™s child. Even if some people wear white dresses, they still canโ€™t climb into a manโ€™s bed. Theyโ€™re useless.โ€

Hester trembled with rage. Shelia sauntered towards the inner room, her voice dripping with disdain. โ€œLet me see where your room is.โ€

Hester, being the daughter of the Vargas family, had been given the best and largest guest room when Melody brought her. But even that paled in comparison to Debraโ€™s room. Shelia had seen it once and decided that, sooner or later, she would make it her own. She looked down at her belly, a calculating gleam in her eyes.

โ€œBaby, you need to make an effort,โ€ she cooed. โ€œWhether I can become the hostess of the Nichols family depends on you.โ€

As evening descended, Juan returned home to find the house completely transformed. His brow furrowed as he took in the changes. Sophie, urgently summoned by Melody, rushed to his side, relief etched on her face.

โ€œSir, youโ€™re finally back,โ€ she said, her eyes darting around the room uncertainly.

Juanโ€™s frown deepened as he surveyed the new dรฉcor. The houseโ€™s arrangements had been completely altered, and even the furniture replaced. Then he found Shelia massaging Melodyโ€™s back on the sofa. He asked, โ€œWho changed the layout of the house?โ€ This was Debra and his house, arranged exactly to Debraโ€™s favorite style.

Shelia didnโ€™t stop massaging Melodyโ€™s back, and Melody replied indifferently, โ€œSheโ€™s gone, Juan. Why keep all those old things? Shelia was just worried you wouldnโ€™t be able to move on. She meant well.โ€

โ€œWas it you?โ€ Juan sulked.

Shelia looked up at him, her eyes wide and innocent. โ€œDebra is gone. You should move on.โ€

Juan narrowed his eyes, his voice dropping to a low growl. โ€œYou have three hours to restore the dรฉcor, or donโ€™t blame me for being ruthless.โ€

Shelia bit her lip, her eyes flicking to Melody.

Melody frowned and chastised Juan. โ€œShelia is carrying your child. Donโ€™t lose your temper over a few pieces of furniture. I wonโ€™t allow you to make things difficult for Shelia. If sheโ€™s wronged and the baby is hurt, itโ€™ll be a grave matter.โ€

As the tension in the room thickened, there was a sudden pounding on the door.

โ€œJuan! Open the door!โ€ Ralph shouted, while Rosalle tried in vain to hold him back.

โ€œDarling, calm down. Donโ€™t be so rash,โ€ she advised.

โ€œGo away!โ€ Ralph snapped. He had been waiting for four days with no news about Debra.

Sophie opened the door, and he stormed inside. His eyes blazed with anger as he took in the new setup and Shelia standing beside Melody.

โ€œJuan, I married Debra to you,โ€ he growled with rage. โ€œLook at what youโ€™ve done. Debra has just gone missing, and youโ€™re already eagerly bringing another woman home. What kind of husband are you?โ€

Juan, usually so domineering, stood silent, letting Ralphโ€™s accusations wash over him. But his silence only fueled Ralphโ€™s anger. Ralph raised his hand and slapped him across the face.
