Chapter 362
The executives of the Frazier Group cast worried glances at Debra. The prospect of shareholders withdrawing their support could be a crippling blow. The stark reality was that they lacked the money to buy out these shareholders. Debra, however, maintained her composure. โIf anyone wishes to leave, just sign here and leave.โ
The shareholders were unsure. One pointed at Debra and snapped, โWell then, weโll all withdraw our shares. If you canโt produce the funds, weโll settle this in court.โ With that, they began to file out of the house.
At least half the people in the hall had departed. Debra surveyed the remaining managers and directors, her expression unreadable. โIs there anyone else who wishes to leave? You can have your pay now.โ
One executive stepped forward. โWeโre here because of Mr. Frazier. Now that heโs gone, thereโs no reason for us to remain.โ Several others followed suit, signing their resignations before turning to Debra. โMs. Frazier, take care of yourself.โ They exited the hall, some staff members trailing behind.
Debra turned to the few who remained. โIs there anyone else who wishes to leave?โ The remaining people exchanged determined looks.
โSince you took over from Mr. Frazier, things have improved. We were all promoted by you, and we canโt abandon you in your time of need.โ
โYeah, weโre in this together.โ They were all loyalists recently promoted by Debra.
She scanned the room. Only eight people were left. โGood. From today forward, you are the new shareholders of the Frazier Group. I will transfer some of the shares from those who left to you.โ
A flicker of joy crossed their faces, quickly replaced by concern. โBut we have no money. How will we pay them?โ
โI have more than enough money.โ Debraโs smile widened slightly. She had long anticipated this purge, a chance to rid the company of corrupt elements like Ralph. The current crisis presented the perfect opportunity to cut away the dead weight.
โStarting today,โ she announced, โthe Frazier Group is declaring bankruptcy. I will arrange for you to join the McKinney Group.โ
โBankruptcy?โ Everyone was shocked. โMs. Frazier, are you serious?โ
Debra nodded, her resolve unshakable. โThe books are in disarray. We will shut down the small companies that should have been closed long ago. Since the Frazier Group has been acquired by the McKinney Group, you just need to follow instructions. I assure you that your earnings will only increase from here.โ
A sense of resolve settled over the group. โAlright. We trust you, Ms. Frazier.โ
Even though the Frazier Group was defunct, the McKinney Group was thriving. Ralphโs imprisonment catalyzed this transformation, allowing the Frazier Group to shed its old skin and the McKinney Group to rise as the new powerhouse in Seamar City. With the Frazier Groupโs elite talents, its enduring reputation, and the McKinney Groupโs formidable presence, the future looked brighter than ever.
