Chapter 372

Fuming, Melody burst into Juanโ€™s office and called out, โ€œJuan!โ€ Her sudden entrance startled Joe, who was in the middle of a discussion with Juan. He quickly excused himself. โ€œSir, Iโ€™ll step out for a moment.โ€ Juan nodded, his gaze shifting to Melody, who marched straight to his desk and snapped, โ€œYouโ€™re still working here, as if nothing has happened! Your child is going to call someone else Dad?โ€

Juan was confused. โ€œGrandma, what are you talking about?โ€

Melody slammed her palm on the desk, her voice rising. โ€œIโ€™m saying Sheila ran off with another man. She is pregnant with your child. How could you let her leave?โ€

Juan remained indifferent. โ€œI let her go.โ€

Melody staggered back, shock written all over her face. โ€œWhat?โ€ She couldnโ€™t believe what she was hearing. Who in their right mind would push their child and their woman onto another man? She spluttered, โ€œDo you know what youโ€™re doing? Why do I have such a cowardly grandson like you? I thought Debra took her away. Do you know how big of a scene I made at the hospital?โ€

The mention of Debraโ€™s name made Juan pause. โ€œYou saw Debra? Sheโ€™s at the hospital?โ€ Recently, the Frazier family had been in turmoil, and his visits had been rejected. The news that Melody had gone to find Debra shocked him. Realizing Debra might have been hurt, Juan stood up immediately.

Melody grabbed his arm, her voice stern. โ€œYouโ€™re not allowed to leave.โ€

Juanโ€™s patience wore thin. โ€œGrandma, are you done?โ€

โ€œYouโ€™d better mind your attitude,โ€ Melody growled, her face turning red with anger. Ever since Debra married into their family, there had been no peace. Now even Juan was starting to disobey her.

Juan rubbed his temples and called out to Joe.

Joe entered the office promptly, and Juan ordered, โ€œTake my grandma back to rest. Sheโ€™s not to leave without my permission.โ€

โ€œYes, sir.โ€ Joe nodded, turning to Melody. โ€œMrs. Nichols Sr., please come with me.โ€

โ€œJuan!โ€ Melody tried to protest, but Juan was already striding out of the office, his mind fixed on whether Debra was injured. He headed straight for the hospital, but when he arrived, he saw Marion in the ward. Marion was holding Debraโ€™s chin, tilting it to examine her face. Debraโ€™s cheeks bore visible handprints, a stark contrast against her pale skin.

Juan moved away from the door, his eyes fixed on Debraโ€™s injured face.

โ€œDonโ€™t move,โ€ Marion said.

Debra sighed. โ€œItโ€™s not that serious. Just a couple of slaps.โ€

Randy, munching on a cob of corn, chimed in from the corner of the room. โ€œGot to give credit where itโ€™s due. Luckily, I noticed something off about Ericaโ€™s voice on the phone, or we would have been kept in the dark.โ€

Erica glared at him. โ€œYou have the nerve to talk.โ€

Randy gave a sheepish smile and continued eating. Erica knocked his corn away and spluttered, โ€œItโ€™s all Sheilaโ€™s fault. She anonymously invited Debra and me to a restaurant. We planned to see who wanted to see us, not expectingโ€ฆ
