Chapter 372
Fuming, Melody burst into Juanโs office and called out, โJuan!โ Her sudden entrance startled Joe, who was in the middle of a discussion with Juan. He quickly excused himself. โSir, Iโll step out for a moment.โ Juan nodded, his gaze shifting to Melody, who marched straight to his desk and snapped, โYouโre still working here, as if nothing has happened! Your child is going to call someone else Dad?โ
Juan was confused. โGrandma, what are you talking about?โ
Melody slammed her palm on the desk, her voice rising. โIโm saying Sheila ran off with another man. She is pregnant with your child. How could you let her leave?โ
Juan remained indifferent. โI let her go.โ
Melody staggered back, shock written all over her face. โWhat?โ She couldnโt believe what she was hearing. Who in their right mind would push their child and their woman onto another man? She spluttered, โDo you know what youโre doing? Why do I have such a cowardly grandson like you? I thought Debra took her away. Do you know how big of a scene I made at the hospital?โ

Melody grabbed his arm, her voice stern. โYouโre not allowed to leave.โ
Juanโs patience wore thin. โGrandma, are you done?โ
โYouโd better mind your attitude,โ Melody growled, her face turning red with anger. Ever since Debra married into their family, there had been no peace. Now even Juan was starting to disobey her.
Juan rubbed his temples and called out to Joe.
Joe entered the office promptly, and Juan ordered, โTake my grandma back to rest. Sheโs not to leave without my permission.โ
โYes, sir.โ Joe nodded, turning to Melody. โMrs. Nichols Sr., please come with me.โ
โJuan!โ Melody tried to protest, but Juan was already striding out of the office, his mind fixed on whether Debra was injured. He headed straight for the hospital, but when he arrived, he saw Marion in the ward. Marion was holding Debraโs chin, tilting it to examine her face. Debraโs cheeks bore visible handprints, a stark contrast against her pale skin.
Juan moved away from the door, his eyes fixed on Debraโs injured face.
โDonโt move,โ Marion said.
Debra sighed. โItโs not that serious. Just a couple of slaps.โ
Randy, munching on a cob of corn, chimed in from the corner of the room. โGot to give credit where itโs due. Luckily, I noticed something off about Ericaโs voice on the phone, or we would have been kept in the dark.โ
Erica glared at him. โYou have the nerve to talk.โ
Randy gave a sheepish smile and continued eating. Erica knocked his corn away and spluttered, โItโs all Sheilaโs fault. She anonymously invited Debra and me to a restaurant. We planned to see who wanted to see us, not expectingโฆ
