Chapter 380
Debra instinctively glanced toward the kitchen. Manoe stood there, vested in a black apron, looking quite relaxed as he wielded a spatula, frying eggs. Sensing her gaze, he looked up. Debra quickly averted her eyes, but too late; he had caught her staring.
โBreakfastโs ready!โ Randy shouted from the kitchen, carrying plates piled high with food. Marion placed a dish in front of Debra, the eggs cooked to perfection.
Randy, setting down the plates, remarked with a playful pout, โMan, when will you ever be this considerate toward me?โ
Erica chimed in, โMaybe in your next life.โ
Just as Debra began to eat, her phone buzzed with a message from Juan. She glanced at Marion to see if heโd noticed; seeing he was engrossed in his meal, she opened the message.
Juan: [8 PM, Royal Grand Hotel.]
Debra hesitated, her fingers hovering over the screen. She thought about the dream sheโd had and typed her reply.
Debra: [No need, Iโll come to your company now.]
Setting her phone down, she pushed her plate away and said, โIโm full. I need to step out for a bit.โ
Erica looked up. โDo you want me to come with you?โ
Debra shook her head. โIโm good. Just a small matter.โ
She retreated to her room to change into simple, comfortable clothes. In the living room, Randy turned to Marion, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
โHereโs a good chance for you to show your worth. Since youโve got nothing else to do, why not be the chauffeur and drive her?โ
โShe doesnโt want me to go,โ Marion replied, glancing at Debraโs phone on the table. He could guess she was going to meet Juan.
Randy raised an eyebrow, puzzled. โHow do you know she doesnโt want you to come? What ifโฆโ
Marion slammed his fork onto his plate and got up to leave. Randy stared at the shattered plate, his mouth agape.
โHow much anger does it take to break a plate with a fork?โ he muttered, shaking his head in disbelief.
When Debra emerged from her room, Marion was already gone. She looked around and asked, โWhereโs Marion?โ
Erica smoothly lied, โHe went back to his room, probably to catch up on sleep.โ
Debra paused, picking up her phone. โIโm leaving. Donโt wait for me for lunch. Iโll go straight back to my place after Iโm done.โ
Ericaโs eyes widened in surprise. โYouโre not staying here anymore?โ
Debra glanced at the closed door to Marionโs bedroom and hummed in response. Then she went out.
โWhatโs wrong with Marion? Acting like a child. Now Debra has left,โ Randy sighed.
Erica, however, saw more to the situation. โCould it be that Marion thinks Debra is going to see Juan?โ
โWhat? Theyโre already like enemies. Whatโs the point of the meeting?โ Randy said incredulously.
โFeelings are complicated. Maybe Debra is going to finalize things with Juan,โ Erica said thoughtfully.
โIf Juan doesnโt sign the divorce papers, Debra wonโt be able to get a divorce. After all, heโs Juan, not some random guy off the street,โ Randy said, clicking his tongue. โI donโt get what heโs thinking. He had a mistress while his wife was around. Now heโs playing the role of a devoted man. Compared to him, Marion is truly one in a million.โ
