Chapter 436
Hannahโs gaze swept over the crowd. โDebra went to find Oscar because someone told her to. Who said anything about them dating?โ
โWhat?โ Freya staggered back, shock evident on her face. โBut just now, it looked like they wereโฆโ Her voice trailed off as she replayed the scene in her mind; Oscar hadnโt shown any signs of affection. It was only Oscarโs proactive behavior that had alarmed her.
Debraโs voice was sharp. โYouโre just jealous. Youโre the one who wants to keep Oscar all to yourself.โ
โThatโs a lie!โ Freya tried to argue.
Debra snorted. โYou donโt even dare admit that you like someone. It shows your feelings are trivial. No wonder Oscar doesnโt even look at you.โ
โYouโฆโ
โYou messed up, and out of jealousy, you slandered me and Oscar. But have you ever thought that if this slander becomes true, youโre not just driving me away, youโre also ruining Oscarโs future? Youโre so selfish. Why should he like you?โ
Freya crumpled, her shoulders slumping in defeat.
Debra turned to Hannah. โDo what you see fit. I believe Mr. Cameron will make the right decision.โ
Hannah nodded, her face stern. โFreya, are you leaving on your own, or should I have someone escort you out?โ
Freya lifted her chin, clinging to her dignity. โIโll leave on my own.โ
โIโll make sure my dad fires her,โ Eve barked.
Debra watched Freya follow Hannah out. She knew the consequences of Freyaโs actions: a firm dismissal. Freya wouldnโt have to pay the breach of contract penalty, but she would need to cover at least the training and accommodation fees, amounting to at least $500,000.
The crowd dispersed quickly.
The next morning, Debra found Freya packing her things in the dorm. The other trainees whispered scornfully.
โWith that kind of morals, how did she manage to be our captain for so long?โ
โShe pretended to be so noble, but who knew she was doing such dirty things behind our backs?โ
โWho would have thought our captain, who always acted disinterested in boys, actually liked Oscar? I wonder how Oscar will react when he finds out she slandered him and Debra out of jealousy.โ
Everyone seemed to be enjoying her misfortune. Freya endured it, but the mention of Oscar was her breaking point.
โEven though Iโm leaving now,โ she said through gritted teeth, โthereโs no guarantee I wonโt make a comeback. Youโd better be careful.โ
It was rare for her to speak so harshly. After delivering her parting words, she pushed her suitcase out of the dormitory.
Standing outside the door, Debra watched her with an unreadable expression. Freya smiled coldly, asking, โAre you here just to watch me fail too?โ
Debra met her gaze. โYes and no. I could have found a place for you, butโฆโ
Freya cut her off with a bitter laugh. โYou? A fallen lady who can only rely on men? You have no right to judge me. I clawed my way up from nothing. You were just born with a silver spoon in your mouth.โ
Debraโs voice was quiet but firm. โYouโre capable, Freya. But you chose to harm your teammates, and I canโt have that. As for my abilities, youโll never know the half of it.โ
