Chapter 467 +25 BONUS
Juan glanced at Joe, who immediately stepped forward to address the stunned Jack and Leah.
โI apologize for the disturbance. Iโll arrange for someone to take you home shortly.โ
Turning to the assembled crowd, he announced, โThe dinner party is over. Iโm sorry for the trouble. Weโll be sending everyone a gift later. I hope you donโt mind.โ
With Joe managing the situation, Juan felt relieved. He turned his attention to Pedro, gesturing for him to follow.
โCome with me.โ
โOkay.โ
Juan then addressed Edgar and Declan, his voice cold and dismissive. โSee yourselves out.โ
Declan flushed with embarrassment, his earlier bravado deflating under Juanโs stern gaze. Though he had dared to create a scene in front of Melody, he wouldnโt dream of doing so in front of Juan.
Edgar, sensing the tension, quickly led Declan away.
โMr. Odom.โ
Debraโs sudden call made Edgar pause. She looked at him meaningfully. โTake care.โ
Edgar gave Debra a cold look. Declan sensed something unusual between them, but couldnโt quite place it. Nevertheless, he followed Edgar out of the house.
Once everyone had left, Juan approached Debra, his eyes scanning her for any signs of injury.
โAre you hurt?โ
โIโm fine. You should be more concerned about your child.โ
โI never said I was going to marry her.โ
The atmosphere between them was awkward.
Pedro felt the need to intervene. โUh, why donโt you two talk here? Iโll wait upstairs.โ
Juan glanced at him, and Pedro quickly understood. โIโll go upstairs.โ
Debra said seriously, โWhy do you have to scare people? I knew what was going to happen today, but I didnโt expect Shelia to use her child to frame me.โ
She had sensed something was amiss from the moment she received the invitation. Knowing Edgar was coming only confirmed her suspicions.
To be safe, she contacted Sophie and installed cameras throughout the house. She had also brought a recording device, which had proven incredibly useful.
Sheliaโs tactics were predictable, but it was a pity about the child in her womb.
Debraโs voice was flat as she continued, โAnyway, itโs your child. Shelia is in the hospital now. If you want to visit her, go ahead.โ
As she turned to leave, Juan grabbed her wrist.
โDo you want me to visit Shelia?โ
โSheโs your woman. The child she lost is yours. Shouldnโt you go?โ
She looked at him coldly before asking the question that had been weighing on her mind, โEven if you donโt love her, you still have a responsibility. Would you watch a woman carrying your child die on the operating table, even if you donโt love her?โ
โWhat?โ
Juan was taken aback, unsure of how to respond.
Debra gave a light laugh. โForget it.โ
