Chapter 478
After dinner at the Blair familyโs house, Juan left and got into his car. Joe said, โMarion has booked the place.โ
โThen letโs go,โ Juan replied, his eyes gleaming with cold determination. He had been wanting to have a serious talk with Marion, and tonight seemed like the perfect opportunity.
The car pulled up to the nightclub. Marion had rented out the entire place. The manager, recognizing Juan, immediately approached him with a fawning smile and led him to the most luxurious private room at the back. The hallway was lined with Marionโs men, their presence a clear display of power.
Joe muttered, โWhat does Marion want? Is he trying to show off?โ
Juan remained silent. For years, Seamar City had been his territory, but with Calebโs retirement and Marionโs rise, the dynamics had shifted. The city was now a formidable three-way standoff between Juan, Marion, and the elusive Tracy, who never appeared in public.
In the private room, Marion sat on the couch, a defiant smile playing on his lips.
โMr. Nichols, please sit.โ
Juan raised an eyebrow. โThis is my turf. I should be the one hosting you here.โ
Marionโs smile faded, his tone turning cold. โThis was your territory yesterday. But from now on, itโs mine.โ He pushed a stack of papers across the table toward Juan. โI donโt like beating around the bush. Since youโve made your choice, sign the divorce agreement.โ
Juan looked at the papers and saw Debraโs signature on them. He looked away and said, โWhat if I refuse? What will you do about it?โ
Marionโs tone was calm, but the underlying threat was unmistakable. โI have my ways to make you sign.โ
Juan knew Marionโs reputation. Having made a name for himself overseas, Marion was not someone to be underestimated. With him around, Juan knew that the Nichols family would face significant challenges in the future.
Marion leaned forward, his voice growing colder. โYou must know your stubbornness is harming Debra. You know all the rumors sheโs been subjected to and how your grandmother is targeting her. Yet you just stand by and watch.โ
His words struck a nerve, and Juan frowned. โEven if Iโm stubborn and selfish, I did things for her. What about you? Where were you when she was dealing with all this?โ
โDebra isnโt a woman who needs rescuing. She has her plans, and Iโm sure she wonโt be harmed. Ironically, all the suffering sheโs going through is because of you.โ Marion stood up, his voice firm. โI wonโt show any mercy to anyone who harms Debra. Today, either you sign it orโฆโ
As if on cue, several bodyguards in black began to close in on Juan.
Joe stepped forward. โWhat, do you think this is overseas? Do you think Mr. Nichols is someone you can threaten?โ
