Chapter 50
โReally?โ Carrieโs eyes lit up, but soon her enthusiasm faded. โSomeone so impressive wouldnโt be interested in me. I wonder why heโs here at our school. Canโt be to pick up his girlfriend, right?โ
Shelia quickly thought of Debra. At the auction, Marion had defended Debra, suggesting a connection between them. Sure enough, after Debra and Randy emerged from Building #2, they headed toward Marionโs car. Marion even courteously opened the car door for Debra. This scene left Carrie stunned. โIsnโt she a mistress trying to steal your boyfriend? How come sheโs getting into someone elseโs car? Does she know Mr. Houston? Unbelievable!โ
Shelia felt a pang of jealousy. Why does Debra always have men surrounding her?
Inside the car, Randy naturally assumed the driverโs role. โYou called me over so urgently. Did you find out who anonymously spread the rumors?โ
Marion, ever efficient, replied, โThe ID was newly registered, but we managed to trace the IP address.โ
โWhere is it?โ
โRight at Arcane Academy.โ
Debra gave him a knowing look. โYou donโt seem surprised.โ
โThe nightclub is nearby, and Iโve only interacted with people from Arcane Academy lately,โ Marion calmly stated. โThe person who registered this ID is named Shelia Miles.โ
โShelia?โ Debra frowned. She didnโt understand why Shelia would deliberately spread rumors about her. In her previous life, they had no connection, and even in this one, they hadnโt interacted much. Shelia always seemed so delicate and innocent. Why would she do something like this all of a sudden? Debra wondered.
โI remember something,โ Randy said knowingly. โShe was rumored to be Juanโs girlfriend, right? But never underestimate the power of a womanโs jealousy. They can do anything!โ
โShelia isnโt the main issue,โ Marion said, handing Debra a stack of documents. โI came to see you today about something else. The files you requested. Already approved.โ
โThatโs fast.โ Debra hadnโt expected Marion to complete the task so quickly.

Upon seeing the stamp on the documents, Debra smiled. In a secluded area of the city center, she had purchased a building. Renovations had recently finished. Unable to manage it personally, sheโd hired Marion to handle everything, keeping it a secret until the business license was secured.
Randy parked the car. The building was currently vacant. They took the elevator to the top floor, where they could enjoy a breathtaking city view without attracting attention.
Randy asked, โWith the Fraziersโ properties and all, why did you buy this building? Donโt you have enough buildings?โ
Debra replied slowly, โThe Frazier family is like a crumbling tree, and I want to escape.โ
โSo, you bought that former sewage land, and its current value is more than ten billion dollars,โ Marion speculated.
Randy was dumbfounded. What? Ten billion dollars?
