Chapter 559
โHe wonโt refuse you,โ Andrew said affirmatively.
Debra fell silent for a moment. Then, she asked cautiously, โArenโt you worried that if Marion found out, he might turn against you?โ
โHe wouldnโt dare,โ Andrew responded with an enigmatic smile.
Debra nodded, reaching out her hand. โAlright, Iโll do it. Hereโs to a smooth partnership.โ
Andrew glanced at her outstretched hand, smiling slightly before gently clasping her fingers. โThereโs someone else coming in a bit. Want to meet him?โ
โWho?โ
Just then, a familiar voice resonated from the doorway, deep and steady.
โItโs me.โ
She turned around, her gaze landing on Jordan.
It had been a long time since she last saw him. His skin had tanned to a healthy bronze from time spent outdoors, and his once-red hair had been dyed black, cut short into a close crop. He wore a white shirt and slacks, accentuating his tall, straight frame. He looked more muscular than before. His eagle eyes now carried a deeper intensity.
A smirk played on his lips as he teased, โWhat? Half a year gone, and youโve already forgotten about me?โ
Debra realized she hadnโt seen Jordan in all that time. After a long pause, the only words she could manage were, โYou look sharper now.โ
Jordan blushed and awkwardly averted his gaze.
โYou two catch up,โ Andrew interjected. โJordan rarely gets time off. Heโs leaving again the day after tomorrow.โ
โSo soon?โ Debra said. โBack to the army?โ
โYeah,โ Jordan replied, his expression dimming briefly. โThis time, itโs for a special mission.โ
โWhat kind of special mission?โ she asked.
Jordan stepped closer and flicked her forehead.
โI told you itโs special. Of course, I canโt tell you.โ
โItโs a good day for a reunion. Let me call Erica, Randy, and Marion. We should celebrate your return.โ
โMarion?โ
โYeah.โ
Jordan went quiet, realizing just how much had changed in his absence. He hadnโt been around for six months, and it was clear that things between Debra and Marion had become different. The tone she used said it all.
Chapter 561
Andrew broke the silence. โIโve already sent for them. They will be here soon.โ
โThatโs sweet. Iโฆโ
Before Debra could finish, Jordan grabbed her wrist.
โCome on, Iโve got something to show you.โ
โWait, I wasnโt done talking.โ
Nevertheless, Jordan dragged her away. He was still as impulsive and headstrong as ever, charging ahead without thinking about the consequences.
He led Debra to his room and flipped open his suitcase, revealing a collection of medals from the past six months.
โPretty impressive, huh?โ
โWow, youโve outdone yourself.โ
Debra gazed at the medals and certificates, each representing a victory or honor Jordan had earned during his time away. Each one had been meticulously cared for.
