Chapter 561

As Jordan extended his hand, Andrew stepped forward and gently pressed it down. โ€œDid you forget? Marion never shakes hands with anyone.โ€

Jordan glanced down at his hand, realizing he perhaps hadn't yet earned the privilege of shaking hands with someone like Marion.

Andrew smiled, turning to Marion. โ€œMr. Houston, would you do me the honor of coming upstairs? Thereโ€™s something Iโ€™d like to discuss with you.โ€

Marion slipped an arm around Debraโ€™s waist. โ€œDebraโ€™s coming with me.โ€

Debraโ€™s cheeks flushed. She shot him a sharp look. โ€œWho said Iโ€™m going with you? Whatever you two need to discuss, go ahead. Iโ€™m not getting involved.โ€

She slapped his hand away from her waist.

Andrew smiled and instructed the butler to wheel him into the elevator.

Erica nudged Debra playfully. โ€œWhy donโ€™t you go with them? Those two always keep their talks so secret. Neither Randy nor I have ever gotten a word out of them. You could spill some juicy gossip later.โ€

But Debra had no interest in the secretive affairs of these two men. Whatever they discussed was none of her business, and she preferred it that way. Besides, being in the same room with the sly and cunning Andrew always made her deeply uncomfortable.

โ€œLooks like I donโ€™t stand a chance,โ€ Jordan muttered to himself. He sat back down at the table, lazily picking up his fork and knife. โ€œYou promised to throw me a welcome party, right? Whereโ€™s my toast?โ€

Erica laughed and pulled Debra into a seat. โ€œAlright, let me toast you. You should be grateful.โ€

Debra smiled along with the rest of them. It had been so long since theyโ€™d all gathered like this, and it felt good to see everyone together.

Upstairs in the study, Andrew laid a folder on the desk. โ€œThis is the company that lured Ralph into gambling.โ€

Marion picked up the folder and flipped through the documents.

โ€œWhoโ€™s behind it?โ€

โ€œThe codename is K.โ€

โ€œAnd?โ€

Andrew said nothing. Marion lifted the folder higher.

โ€œDonโ€™t tell me this is all youโ€™ve got.โ€

โ€œOne of the shareholders is Drake.โ€

Andrew repeated it slowly, enunciating each word. โ€œDrake Lowe.โ€

Marionโ€™s frown deepened.

โ€œThe case involving your parents, and the one involving Debraโ€™s parents, isnโ€™t just about Seamar City anymore. Besides Edgar and Shawn, whom you eliminated earlier, even Drake from Orkgate is involved. The mastermind behind all this is hiding in deeper shadows than we thought.โ€

Marion sat on the couch and downed the remaining half of his whiskey in one gulp.

Andrew observed his expression and added, โ€œDrake isnโ€™t on the same level as Edgar, and you know that. If you want to infiltrate the casino, youโ€™ll need a fresh face.โ€

Marion narrowed his eyes. โ€œWhat do you mean?โ€

Andrew explained, โ€œIโ€™ve already signed a contract with Ms. Frazier. Sheโ€™ll be making her debut. And you know as well as I do that the Lowe family runs more than just casinos.โ€

Before Andrew could finish his sentence, Marion was on his feet, his gun aimed squarely at Andrewโ€™s forehead. โ€œIโ€™m warning you. Donโ€™t drag Debra into this.โ€

โ€œItโ€™s not that I want her involved,โ€ Andrew said calmly. โ€œSheโ€™s already in. You know better than anyone that Debra is the one willing to walk beside you through it all. You used to understand that. She knows you, and you know her. So why is it that now, suddenly, you donโ€™t?โ€
