Chapter 563
Marion was teaching Debra with utmost seriousness. He stood behind her, grasping her hands firmly.
โFocus on your target,โ he said, โand keep your hands steady.โ
Debra stared at the bullseye in the distance, trying to steady her breath. Under Marionโs guidance, she fired her first shot.
The gunshot echoed through the room, startling Randy, who was about to enter with tea. โOh my goodness, youโre already shooting!โ
The handgunโs recoil made Debraโs hands go numb. Marion gently massaged her wrists.
โThis is normal,โ he reassured her. โYouโll get used to it with practice.โ
โWow. Bullseye. Who shot that?โ Randy looked at Marion. โDid you give Debra some special treatment?โ
โShe has excellent physical conditioning,โ Marion replied. โShe doesnโt need any special treatment.โ Debra knew her physical condition was top-notch. Ever since her rebirth, she had been jogging every morning to keep herself fit. Adding to that, her previous training as a trainee had honed her body to near perfection.
โImpressive, my hero and heroes!โ Randy commented as he poured tea. โBy the way, training is important, but make sure not to get calluses on your hands. Itโs easy for people to notice.โ
โHow can you be a sharpshooter without calluses?โ Debra asked.
โEasy; get some cosmetic treatments, or just donโt handle guns for a long time. The calluses will disappear naturally,โ Marion explained.
โI hope she never has to touch a gun again,โ Marion said, putting the gun away. โDebra, Iโll be with you all day for practice. Donโt expect me to go easy on you. This is about your survival.โ
โI wonโt complain,โ Debra replied, picking up the gun and starting to shoot on her own.
Adapting to the handgunโs recoil took time. To improve her coordination, Marion took her to Randyโs mansion for a boxing session in the afternoon.
โPunch.โ โLeft hook.โ โRight hook.โ
Debraโs movements were precise, but Marion frowned. โStop.โ
Debra paused, and Marion said, โHit me.โ
โHit you?โ Debra hesitated before throwing a punch.
It landed on Marion, who showed no reaction. โNot enough force.โ
Debra took a deep breath and threw another punch, but this time, Marion dodged it quickly.
โYouโre cheating,โ Debra exclaimed.
โYour opponent wonโt just stand there and let you hit them,โ Marion explained. โYou need to anticipate their movements and strike where they canโt dodge.โ
Marionโs words made Debra think deeply.
โAgain,โ he said.
The sound of their sparring filled the boxing room for the rest of the afternoon. Through a crack in the door, Randy and Erica watched in awe.
When Debra was being restrained by Marion, Erica stamped her foot in anger. โMarion is so rough. Heโs hopeless.โ
Randy clicked his tongue. If he keeps this up, I bet Debra willโฆ Erica frowned. โI wonโt let that happen. I have to stop this.โ
