Chapter 597
Juan replied honestly, โI didnโt plan this.โ
โFigured. Youโre not exactly the romantic type,โ she said, a rare smile softening her face as she watched the fireworks show. It went on for a good ten minutes, and her mood shifted. โWow, the production team really knows how to burn money.โ
From their courtyard, the display above looked like something out of a movie. It was stunning, almost surreal. At first, Debra was captivated by the dazzling display, but after ten minutes, her excitement began to wane. She rubbed her ears, silently calculating how much this extravagance must have cost. Ten thousand, 20 thousand, 30 thousandโฆ she mentally counted.
By the time the fireworks finally fizzled out, nearly 15 minutes had passed. It was a solid million-dollar fireworks showโa bigger budget than she thought.
Juan turned to her and asked, โDid you like it?โ
Debra considered it seriously before replying, โI liked it at first. Now? Not so much.โ
She turned and walked back into the house. The fireworks were impressive, sure, but they had left her ears ringing. Pretty or not, she didnโt care to see another display anytime soon.
After a pause, Juan pulled out his phone and sent a message to Joe.
Juan: (Prepare a fireworks display.) Joe: (What kind of fireworks would you like, sir?) Juan: (There are different types?) Joe: (Yes, quite a few.) Juan: (Pick the most expensive.)
He snapped his phone shut.
Meanwhile, on a private jet speeding through the night sky, Randy was nodding off. Beside him, Marion was wide awake.
Randy cracked an eye open, seeing his alertness.
โDude, itโs late. Why arenโt you sleeping?โ
โHow much longer until we land?โ
โThree hours, give or take. Weโve still got to find somewhere to stay when we get there.โ
โThree hours?โ
Chapter 597
It meant they wouldnโt arrive until well past midnight. Randy sighed, โJust so you know, I promised them we wouldnโt cause any drama. If Andrew catches you showing up, heโll personally send you packing. And knowing him, heโll probably bring ten jets just to make sure you leave.โ
Marionโs eyes narrowed. โDo you think I care?โ
โYou donโt, but I do. Iโm not about to go toe-to-toe with Andrew. Besides, if Debra finds out you crashed her show, sheโll be furious.โ
Marion clenched his jaw. The last thing he wanted was upsetting Debra. But the thought of Debra being alone with Juan for over a month? He couldnโt stand it.
โJuan isnโt a good guy,โ he muttered. โDebra is not safe with him.โ
Randy waved a hand dismissively. โTheyโre surrounded by cameras, dude. Debraโs not worried, so why should you be? And besides, right now, theyโre still technically married. You? Youโre just a rich, handsome guy on the sidelines. If people find out, theyโll call you a gigolo or something.โ
Marion shot him a glare, making Randy shudder. Immediately, he pulled the blanket over his head, mumbling, โI didnโt say anything.โ
