Chapter 646

Debra stiffened at the voice. She tried to retreat to her cabin, but Drake quickly blocked her path.

โ€œMr. Lowe, Iโ€™m not feeling well. Can I go rest?โ€ she asked, hiding her disdain. The last thing she wanted was to deal with him right now. Her message had already been sent; Marion must have noticed by now. As soon as the ship reached land, she would be able to escape Drakeโ€™s clutches.

Drake scrutinized her face. His eyes were cold and unfathomable. His gaze made Debra uneasy. When he stepped closer, she immediately stepped back, maintaining a safe distance.

Her patience ran out. โ€œWhat do you want?โ€

โ€œGo get her some medicine,โ€ Drake ordered without glancing at Lara.

Lara knew better than to disobey. She shot a hesitant glance at Debra before mumbling, โ€œYes, sir.โ€

Only after Lara was gone did Debra speak again. โ€œDid you send her away because you have something to say to me?โ€

Drake stepped closer, and Debra, filled with revulsion, stepped back. He raised an eyebrow and took another step forward. This time, Debra didnโ€™t back away.

โ€œWhatโ€™s your problem?โ€

โ€œWhy didnโ€™t you mention your seasickness earlier?โ€

โ€œI told Peter, and he said Iโ€™d get used to it.โ€ She lied without missing a beat.

Just then, Lara returned from the cabin, holding a small packet of pills.

โ€œSir, the medicine.โ€

His eyes never leaving Debra, Drake took the pills. His hand shot out in the next second, grabbing Debraโ€™s chin and forcing the pill into her mouth.

Debra choked as the pill slid down her throat. Her face flushed red, and the bitter taste spread in her mouth. Holding back the urge to vomit, she sneered, โ€œDid you come here just to make sure I took my medicine?โ€

Drake smirked, โ€œI donโ€™t want you dying on my ship.โ€

โ€œReally? I thought you cared about me,โ€ Debra taunted.

Drake snorted, โ€œYou? Why would I care about you?โ€ He grabbed her chin again and tilted her head from side to side. โ€œYouโ€™re not the most beautiful or the most striking. What makes you think Iโ€™d be interested in you?โ€

Debra remained unfazed. โ€œMaybe Iโ€™m not the best-looking, but there arenโ€™t many in Seamar City who can surpass me. And letโ€™s be honest, physical appearance isnโ€™t the only thing that makes a man interested in a woman, right?โ€

โ€œGood point.โ€ Drake let go of her and smirked. โ€œJust so you know, I have plenty of ways to tame people like you. One day, youโ€™ll bow before me in submission.โ€

With that, he turned and left her standing there.

As soon as he was out of sight, Debra breathed a sigh of relief. She had no intention of becoming Drakeโ€™s plaything. She planned to be the one to play him.

After three days at sea, Debra started to sense that something was wrong. According to Lara, they should have reached Seamar City today, but all she could see was the endless stretch of ocean. No docks or shores were in sight.
