Chapter 663
โWhat is going on?โ That was the last thought that flashed through Debraโs mind before everything went dark. She didnโt know if they were sent by Edgar or Drake.
โThe guard will be back any minute. Should we just take care of her here?โ Gavin suggested, making a slicing gesture across his neck.
โNo. We gotta follow the rules. The client wants her to disappear without a trace. I say we throw her into the sea,โ Lennox responded, pulling out his phone. He snapped a quick picture of the unconscious Debra and sent it to Reece.
โAlright, letโs do it your way. Once the client confirms, weโll finish the job.โ
โTake her away.โ
Gavin opened a large suitcase they had brought with them, shoving Debraโs limp body inside. As they wheeled the suitcase toward the elevator, both men seemed on edge. This was their first time handling a job like this, but the thought of the huge payout in the end kept them motivated.
The elevator dinged. The bodyguard stepped out with takeout, and when he saw the two men, there was an awkward moment of eye contact.
โWhat are you looking at?โ Lennox snapped, glaring at the bodyguard.
With that, they pulled the suitcase into the elevator. The bodyguard frowned suspiciously. He walked up to Debraโs room and knocked.
โMs. Frazier?โ
There was no response. He knocked again, louder this time. โMs. Frazier?โ
Still, silence. The bodyguard groaned and rushed to knock on Drakeโs door. Drake opened it, his expression cold and impatient. He loosened his tie and glared at the bodyguard.
โDidnโt I tell you to keep an eye on Debra? What is it?โ
โMr. Lowe, I think something happened to Ms. Frazier.โ
Drakeโs eyes narrowed in suspicion. He stepped out of his room and knocked on Debraโs door, his voice dripping with imitation. โDebra, open the door.โ
โI knocked for a while, but there was no response. Something might have happened, or she ran away.โ
Drakeโs gaze darkened. No one had ever been able to run from him. All that was needed to find her was an order from him.
โCheck the surveillance.โ
โGot it.โ
The hotel manager soon arrived, pulling up the security footage on a laptop in front of Drake. He said, โMs. Frazier and you are the only customers on this floor, and Mr. Odom instructed us to disable all security cameras. As for the other floors and the lobby, thereโs no sign of Ms. Frazier in the last half hour.โ
โHold on,โ the bodyguard called out, pointing to the screen. โWho are those two men?โ
The manager glanced at Drake nervously. โThose should be Mr. Loweโs men.โ
Earlier that day, the manager had seen those two talking to Drake. Drakeโs eyes landed on the suitcase one of the men was carrying, and he fell into deep thought.
โMr. Lowe, I saw these two guys when I came back with the takeout. Were they here to meet with you?โ the bodyguard asked.
Drakeโs suspicion deepened. Rising from his chair, he pulled out his phone and called his men, โRegarding the two men coming to report their duties, I need to know where they are within three minutes.โ
