Randy escorted Debra and Erica into the building, his presence commanding respect as they walked through the lobby. “What’s HR doing around here? If I hear any more rumors like that, I’ll have everyone involved pack up and leave,” he growled. The employees scattered like a flock of startled birds.
Just as Debra was about to step further into the lobby, a voice from outside caught her attention. “Good morning, Ms. Blair.” The receptionist warmly greeted Shelia as she walked in. The moment her eyes fell on Debra, her expression tightened.
Debra was dressed in an elegant suit that exuded a cool, aristocratic aura, a stark contrast to her usual casual style. The thought of last night’s humiliation rattled Shelia all over again. Shelia faced him and sneered, “I thought it was someone important. Shouldn’t you be in your own company instead of making a scene here?” Her words sent another wave of shock through the room.
