Chapter 748
Just as Sam attempted to take Debra away, a sudden force yanked him backward, his joyous laughter morphing into a bloodcurdling scream. Drake seized Samโs hand with an iron grip, the sickening crack of breaking bones echoing in the tense air. Samโs face drained of color as he cried out in agony, โMercy, Mr. Lowe. Please, have mercy.โ Drakeโs expression remained grim, his grip tightening until Samโs wrist snapped. Sam writhed and screamed on the ground. Harland signaled for security to drag him away.
Debra, still perched on the piano, asked, โMr. Lowe, what was that for? You ruined my long-term meal ticket.โ Drake squinted at her. โYou want a sugar daddy? Iโll make that happen for you.โ
Before Debra could process his words, he yanked her off the piano bench and shoved her toward the crowd of onlookers. โGo ahead and pick one,โ he said coldly. โSee if theyโre willing to take you home.โ
Debra scanned the room, but every guest had been paralyzed by the shocking violence. They had just witnessed Samโs downfall, and now no one dared to move. They began to excuse themselves one after another.
โMr. Lowe, we should probably head home.โ
โMy momโs calling me for dinner.โ
They hurried away, leaving Debra and Drake standing face to face.
Debra crossed her arms. โWhatโs the fuss? You bargained with him right in front of me, and when I struck a deal with him, you drove him away. What is thisโsome twisted version of jealousy?โ
โJealous? Donโt flatter yourselves,โ he sneered.
โThen explain it. What was all that for? Mr. Bender is a VIP here, and youโve made an enemy of him for no good reason. If you werenโt jealous, then why go through all that trouble?โ Her bold questioning made the bystanders lower their heads, not wanting to get caught in the crossfire.
Drakeโs face fell. โYouโre part of my company, and how youโre put to use is up to me. If youโre just here to score a sugar daddy, then get out.โ
With that, he turned and strode off. Harland hurried to her side and whispered, โMs. Frazier, please, say something to calm him down. Otherwise, weโll all be in trouble.โ Drake was temperamental, and his mood had changed several times that night. If he got mad, everyone there would suffer.
Debra glanced at Drake and pondered. Eventually, she gathered the fabric of her heavy gown and trotted downstairs. Sensing her pursuit, Drake quickened his pace and called for his car to be brought over.
