Chapter 760
โShe left this morning,โ Drake replied with a smirk. โWhat, are you scared?โ
โOf course, I am!โ Debra whispered. โIf Miss Sharp finds out, youโll be in trouble.โ
โTrouble? Youโre the one in trouble here,โ Drake said dryly, giving her a pointed look.
โAm I wrong?โ Debra crossed her arms, narrowing her eyes. โIs Miss Sharp more beautiful than me?โ
Drakeโs gaze swept over her, appraising. โYour waist is slimmer, and your face is more delicate. But youโre more cunning.โ
โThank you for the compliment,โ she said.
โIt wasnโt a compliment,โ Drake replied, turning away. โYou have five minutes. Be downstairs and in the car.โ
Debra sighed and hurried to follow. Kale, waiting by the door, shot Drake a glance.
โBoss, didnโt you promise Miss Sharp that youโd let Debra go?โ
โI was just saying that to keep her happy. You take it seriously?โ
It was a tactic to soothe Yvonneโs jealousy. He would never give up a useful pawn like Debra for that.
โI understand.โ
Debra overheard their conversation and stepped forward. โWere you two talking about me behind my back?โ
โYeah,โ Drake replied without missing a beat. โWe said that youโre ugly and conceited. Satisfied?โ
He quickened his pace, and she had to hurry after him.
In the car, Drake remained silent. Debra couldnโt stand it anymore and finally asked, โItโs not even evening yet. Why did you drag me out here so early? Whatโs going on?โ
Drake didnโt answer, and she pressed, โAt least tell me where weโre going.โ
โThe mall,โ Drake snapped. โNow shut up.โ
Debra frowned, utterly baffled.
When they arrived at the mall, Drake got out first. As Debra fumbled to open the door herself, she was surprised when Drake reached over and opened it for her. She blinked, looking up at him in confusion.
โWhat are you staring at? Get out.โ
โOkay,โ Debra muttered, stepping out quickly. She stared at the mallโs grand entrance, puzzled. โYouโre not planning to take me shopping, are you?โ
Drake scoffed, โTake you shopping? In your dreams.โ
Just then, two rows of well-dressed staff rushed over to greet them. The manager stepped forward, bowing slightly. โMr. Lowe, everything you requested is ready. Weโre just waiting for your decision.โ
โGood,โ Drake replied, turning to Debra. โFollow me.โ
Debra trailed behind him, her mind spinning. โWhat is it that requires Drakeโs personal inspection?โ
They entered the mall and were led straight to an exclusive piano store. Inside, the pianos on display were exquisite. Each one was a piece of art.
โPick the best one,โ Drake said, settling on a plush sofa.
Debra blinked, looking at the luxurious instruments. โYou want me to choose from all of these?โ
These pianos werenโt normally found in stores. She believed they had been flown in specifically for this occasion.
โYes. Canโt decide?โ
โIs it for me?โ
โAre you going to pick or not? If not, weโre leaving.โ
