Chapter 766
Drakeโs gaze flicked to Debra. The blouse sheโd worn earlier that morning was now in shreds.
โHarland,โ Drake said without turning, โbring her a dress.โ
โRight away, sir.โ Harland scurried out of the room.
Debra instinctively stepped back as Drake moved toward her.
โWhat do you want?โ
โYour clothes are ruined.โ
โIโll replace them.โ
โThe top costs six thousand dollars. Cash or card?โ
She gaped, realizing she had no money or phone. She muttered, โIโll pay you back later.โ
Drake snorted, clearly unimpressed.
Breaking the tension, Debra said, โThereโs a hidden passage beneath that boutique you took me to. Care to explain what thatโs all about?โ
Drake remained silent, his expression inscrutable.
Debra pressed further. โI fell through that trap door and was knocked out. When I woke up, I was here. You owe me an explanation.โ
โI owe you nothing,โ Drake snorted. โKeep your nose out of things that donโt concern you. Orโฆโ
โOr what?โ she challenged.
His lips curled into a cold smile. โOr Iโll feed you to the dogs.โ
The threat was so absurd it almost sounded childish. Debra scoffed, โYouโre really scared of Miss Sharp, arenโt you?โ
Drakeโs jaw tightened. โShut up.โ
Harland returned, carrying a dress. He cleared his throat awkwardly. โMs. Frazier, hereโs the dress.โ
Debra recognized it as the same dress she had picked earlier. โDidnโt Miss Sharp take this?โ
She remembered clearly that Yvonne had taken the dress, and Drake had paid for it.
Chapter 766
โThereโs more than one dress,โ Drake said impatiently. โAre you going to wear it or not?โ
Debra sighed, grabbing the dress. โAlright, Iโll wear it.โ
Without another word, Drake turned and left the lounge, while Harland thoughtfully closed the door behind him.
A few moments later, Debra emerged from the lounge in the new dress.
Drake glanced at her and said, โNot bad. Youโll perform in this tonight.โ
Debra followed his gaze to the piano that had just been delivered to the second floor. It was the same one she had picked out earlier.
โPlay me a piece.โ
โOkay.โ
She walked over and sat down at the piano.
Just then, a guard dragged Ava over. โWeโve caught her, Mr. Lowe.โ
โLet go of me!โ Ava shrieked, struggling in vain.
Drakeโs voice remained impassive as he addressed Debra. โGo on and play.โ
She glanced at Ava and then began to play the piece on the sheet music.
Suddenly, the sound of a sharp slap echoed through the room.
Harland barked at Ava, โWho told you to do this?โ
