Chapter 779
Just as Yvonne prepared to ignite the car, a pair of headlights suddenly pierced the darkness. The bodyguard rushed forward to protect her. โMiss, someoneโs coming. We need to leave now.โ
Yvonneโs fury blazed as fiercely as the fire she intended to set. โStep aside. Iโm going to kill her.โ
โMiss, you canโt take the risk and expose yourself. Thatโs Mr. Sharpโs order,โ insisted the bodyguards.
Yvonne shot a glare at Debra and hurled the lighter toward her target. In an instant, flames erupted at the front of the vehicle, crackling hungrily as they spread. The bodyguards swiftly dragged Yvonne back into their car and drove away.
Debra coughed violently, the thick smoke clawing at her lungs. Distantly, she heard the frantic voices of William and Marion.
โDebra!โ
โMarion! Watch out! Thereโs a fire ahead!โ
When she finally managed to blink through the smoke, she saw Marion outside, pounding furiously on the glass. โMarionโฆโ she croaked, reaching weakly for the door, but it was jammed tight.
โLeave! Get out of here!โ Panic gripped her as she realized the danger they were both in. The car might explode at any second.
โDonโt speak. Inhaling too much smoke will kill you. Just wait for a moment. Iโll get you out.โ
Marionโs fists pounded against the glass until, with a deafening crash, it shattered. He reached through the jagged remnants, fumbling for the lock, and yanked the door open with all his might.
With Williamโs help, he pulled Debra out of the wreckage. But the flames roared higher, and Williamโs voice cut through the chaos. โRun!โ
In the blink of an eye, the car erupted in an explosion. Marion instinctively shielded Debra with his body, while William narrowly evaded the blast.
Debra gasped, her breath coming in ragged bursts as pain radiated through her thigh. Reality crashed down around her as she turned to Marion, anxiety flooding her features.

โWhy did you come? Do you have any idea how dangerous this was? What if you died?โ she cried out, pounding weakly on his shoulder.
Marion only tightened his grip, terrified that if he had been even a second late, she would have been lost forever.
โDonโt be scared. Iโm here with you,โ he murmured, his hand stroking her back in soothing circles.
Debra winced from the bruises and scrapes all over her body. Marion brushed her tears away, determination hardening his features. โIโm taking you away.โ
He started to lift her, but William grabbed his arm. โThings are spiraling out of control. If weโre caught, weโre done for. You canโt drag Debra down with you.โ
Marion had kept a low profile, slipping through the shadows undetected. But once they reached the city center, Drakeโs men would be lurking everywhere, ready to pounce. If they were seen, escape would be nearly impossible.
โNo one can stop me. Step aside!โ Marion growled, holding Debra close.
