Chapter 814
Sheliaโs bravado rang hollow, and Debra was not convinced at all.
โAlright then, come back when youโve got your hands on that fund,โ she said, turning to the guards. โSee the guests off.โ
One of the guards stepped forward. โMiss Blair, if you would please.โ
Sheliaโs fury ignited like dry tinder, and with a sharp crack, her palm collided with his face. โWho do you think you are, telling me to leave?โ
Debraโs face hardened like stone. She hadnโt wanted this to escalate. Her body was still fragile, but Shelia had crossed a line.
Before Debra could act, a voice cut through the tension like a blade.
โBarton, teach her some manners.โ
โYes, sir.โ
Without hesitation, Barton stepped out from behind Andrew, his movements swift and precise. In two brutal slaps, Sheliaโs head whipped to the side. When her bodyguards tried to intervene, Barton dismantled them with ease. His fighting skills could rival Kaleโs. After the quick takedown, Barton returned to his post behind Andrew and wheeled Andrew forward to confront Shelia.
Andrewโs presence shook her, and memories of how he had easily resolved her false accusation against Jordan flooded back. This man was a terror, a force not to be reckoned with.
She forced a trembling smile. โMr. Andrew Potterโฆโ
Andrewโs gaze was ice. โMiss Blair, striking one of my people means youโve declared yourself an enemy of the Potter family.โ
โBut heโs just a security guard,โ she argued, trying to downplay it.
Andrew cut her off. โEven the lowest of my people is untouchable by outsiders. You have two options: walk out on your own or be thrown out.โ
Bartonโs silent presence loomed beside Andrew, a clear reminder of what would happen if she chose the latter. Shelia, humiliated and seething with rage, had no choice but to storm out.
She didnโt get it. She was already a wealthy heiress and future Mrs. Nichols, yet she didnโt receive the respect she deserved.
Chapter 814
Debra had lost everything, yet she could still command so much loyalty and support.
โThis is unfair!โ Shelia grunted inwardly on her way out.
Debra descended the staircase. โActually, I could handle that. You didnโt have to step in.โ
After all, Andrew was always busy with important matters. He had better things to do than meddle in trivial affairs.
But instead of responding, he frowned and asked, โWhy do you look so pale?โ
Debra instinctively touched her cheek. She hadnโt checked her reflection, but she knew she was far from her usual self.
โBarton, call William to examine her,โ Andrew ordered.
โNo need.โ Debraโs response was immediate. She winced at her own intensity and hesitated. โPlease, donโt call William.โ
Her prevarication only served to confirm Andrewโs suspicion. In the next instant, his hand shot out and grasped her wrist. The sight of needle marks made his grip tighten, his pupils narrowing into slits.
