Chapter 842
The Potter family was an ancient and respected clan in Seamar City, second to none in terms of reputation and influence. Never in his life had Randy seen anyone disrupting an event hosted by the Potters.
Debra said, โJust in case. Drake is unpredictable and violent. Thereโs nothing he wonโt do.โ
โAlright. Iโll get ready. If he dares to show up, Iโll make him lose so much face that heโll have to hide in Orkgate for the rest of his life,โ Randy replied.
Just then, Erica emerged from the banquet hall. โRandy, what are you dawdling for? Thereโs still a lot to do inside.โ
Debraโs face lit up with a smile. โErica.โ
Erica froze for a moment before spotting Debra standing by a car. Ericaโs eyes welled up, and she rushed over to hug Debra tightly. โOh, sweetheart, I thought Iโd never see you again.โ
Randy tugged at her clothes, reminding her, โPeople are watching. Mind your image.โ
To the public, Erica was always known as an iron businesswoman. But in private, she and Randy were quite the goofy pair.
Erica swatted his hand away, dissatisfied. โDebra survived a disaster. Iโm so happy. Why should I care about my image?โ
โAlright, alright. Even if you cry your makeup off, no one would dare say a word,โ Randy said.
Satisfied with his flattery, Erica nodded and linked arms with Debra. She whispered mysteriously, โLetโs go inside. Thereโs a surprise tonight.โ
Debraโs curiosity was piqued, but given the banquet was prepared in such a rush, it was hard to say what kind of surprise it could be.
Once inside, Debra found the grand banquet hall already packed with people. Some were close to the Potter and Houston families, others to the Osborne and Mathis families, and some were executives of the McKinney Group. The rest were those whom Debra had poached from Drakeโs party.
Debraโs entrance caught immediate attention. Erica had slipped away at some point, and the crowd parted to reveal a wide red carpet.
Before she could react, there was a loud pop, and petals rained down from the ceiling. Stunned, she looked at the end of the carpet.
There, standing tall, was Marion in a black suit. His presence was reassuring, and his confidence alluring.
The hall had been decorated with a sea of roses. The enticing burgundy was her favorite color.
โDebra, go on,โ Erica whispered from the crowd.
Another voice seemed to urge Debra forward as well. Forward, towards the path of happiness.
Debra took her first step, but someone suddenly spoke up from outside the hall.
โThe Potter family sure knows how to throw a party.โ
