Debra took the contract and scanned it. Indeed, it stated that in three months, Juan would transfer all his shares in the Nichols Group to her.

“I thought you were joking, Mr. Nichols. But it seems you’re serious,” she said.

Juan remained expressionless. “I’m a man of my word, but…”

“But?”

“I don’t think you’ll still be alive by then.”

Debra’s smile froze on her face, and Juan continued, “I heard Drake inject you with a new type of drug. You’ve been pampered all your life, never knowing real hardship. If you can’t make it through the next three months, the company won’t be yours.”

Debra looked down at the contract and noticed a clause stating that if either party died within three months, the contract would be null and void.

She sneered and quickly signed the contract.

“Don’t worry. Even for the sake of your company, I will pull through.”

Juan’s smile faded as he watched her go. He believed she would make it.

As he exited the notary office, Joe approached him.

“Sir, your grandmother is expecting your return.”

“Who told you to come here?”

“I usually handle your daily schedule, but you went to Orkgate without me. The collaboration with Lowe Group is full of risks.”

“I gave you some time off, so instead of worrying about company affairs, you should be resting at home. You may leave now.”

“Sir, I reported the matter to Mrs. Nichols Sr. only to stop you from going to find Ms. Frazier. She is now with Marion, making herself an enemy of us. You need to wake up.”

“As of today, you’re fired.”

Joe was stunned. He had been with the Nichols Group for so many years and never imagined he would be fired by Juan.

Without another word, Juan got into his car and drove away.

In the old house, Melody caught wind of the news.

“Juan went to the notary’s office with Debra?” she asked in disbelief.

Joe urgently explained, “Everything I did was for the sake of the Nichols Group. We cannot let Mr. Nichols collaborate with the Lowe Group or hand over the company to Ms. Frazier. Otherwise, everything we’ve built will be ruined.”

Joe had been by Juan’s side for so long. He knew the importance of the Nichols Group to Juan. He just couldn’t understand why Juan wanted to give away his life’s work to Debra. That is the end of the Nichols family.
