Chapter 866
Andrew subtly averted his gaze. โYou two go ahead. The medical facilities overseas are more advanced and will be helpful for Debraโs rehabilitation. Donโt worry about Seamar City. After the stunt Debra pulled, Drake wonโt be able to establish any businesses here for a while. Since heโs creating rumors overseas, he wonโt stay in Seamar City for long. Iโm sure heโs already left.โ
โAlright,โ Marion said, leading Debra out of the room.
Debra saw his serious expression and asked, โIs the situation very tricky?โ
โItโs manageable.โ
โIf it were manageable, you wouldnโt look like this.โ
Marion stopped in his tracks, and she pressed, โIf those overseas assets are taken away, what will happen?โ
โIโve been managing overseas businesses for years to open up a market there. My parentsโ deaths are connected to overseas interests,โ Marion replied.
โDo you mean the Lowe family was not behind your and my parentsโ deaths?โ she asked.
โNo, the Lowe family is involved, but it was the previous generationโs doing. Investigating it is difficult,โ Marion explained.
Debra held his hand firmly. โThen we should set off immediately.โ
โAlright,โ Marion agreed.
At New Age, Garland had his legs propped up on the desk, leaning back in his chair with a newspaper covering his face.
โSir,โ his secretary began, โyesterday, Drake took Miss Eaton back overseas. Mr. Eaton Sr. has ordered you to leave Seamar City. You should come back with us.โ
โHmm? Are you done?โ Garland muttered, as if he had just woken up.
He sat up and took off his black-framed glasses, revealing dark circles under his eyes. His aura changed completely.
โIโve grown quite fond of this place,โ Garland said, stretching lazily.
He then opened a drawer to take out a pair of gold-rimmed glasses. The secretary quickly helped him into his suit jacket.
โDrake was furious about your absence from the banquet. Mr. Eaton Sr. might ask you for an explanation.โ
โSo? Are you going to explain it to him for me?โ
โI wouldnโt dare.โ
โIf youโre not going to explain, why are you in such a hurry? Even if the sky falls, there will be someone taller to hold it up,โ Garland said, measuring the secretaryโs height. โHow tall are you?โ
โ5 feet 11 inches,โ the secretary replied.
โNot as tall as me.โ Garland nodded, straightening his suit.
A bodyguard opened the office door. Outside, dozens of bodyguards stood in rows, bowing. โGood day, Mr. Eaton.โ
As Garland headed toward a private jet parked outside, the pedestrians quickly made way for him.
โWhose private jet is this? Donโt you know you canโt park here?โ a policeman shouted, rushing over.
Garland pushed a stack of money into the policemanโs hands and boarded the jet coolly. Adjusting his glasses, he said, โGoodbye to Seamar City. Iโm going home.โ
