Chapter 877
Marion frowned, and the guards quickly stepped forward to pull Phoebe away.
โDad, please apologize to Mr. Houston. Promise him you wonโt do it again. Weโre willing to give up all our assets. Mr. Houston, please spare my dad,โ Phoebe pleaded.
Debra watched with cold detachment.
Marion stood up, not even sparing Phoebe a glance. โTake them away.โ
The guards exchanged uncertain glances, moved by Phoebeโs pleading, but they dared not defy Marionโs command. They dragged the three away from the office.
โMr. Houston!โ Phoebe continued to cry out, but she was quickly gagged and dragged out.
Debra remarked, โThe situation here is truly something else. Even an underage girl has such deep thoughts.โ
At her age, she was not as deep as Phoebe. Blame it on her fate. Phoebe was facing them. Any other person might have softened.
โJealous?โ Marion asked, embracing Debra from behind.
Just moments ago, Phoebe had rushed at him so quickly that he couldnโt dodge in time. For people like them, who had weathered many storms, Phoebeโs trick was easy to see through. He just hadnโt expected an underage girl to resort to such methods to save herself.
โI wouldnโt be jealous of a child,โ Debra retorted. โBut you can forget about keeping these pants.โ
โAlright, Iโll throw them away when we get back,โ Marion agreed, laughing at her jealousy. โLooks like Iโll need to bring more bodyguards to avoid being ambushed like that.โ
โForget it. Having a beautiful girl throw herself at you is hardly an ambush. Youโre probably secretly thrilled,โ Debra said, poking Marion in the chest.
He caught her hand and pulled her closer. The atmosphere in the office instantly turned intimate.
He kissed Debraโs hand, murmuring, โDoing it on the desk sounds exciting. We should try it when we get home.โ
โWhat are you thinking?โ Debra blushed, pushing him away.
Marion put away his smirk. โAlright, I shouldnโt have let my mind wander. But I do think we should give it a shot.โ
โMarion!โ
Suddenly, the office door swung open. The secretary outside saw the two in an intimate embrace and quickly looked down.
โIโm so sorry. Iโll leave right away.โ
โCome back,โ Debra called her back. โWhatโs so urgent that you didnโt even knock?โ
โSome shareholders and a few partners heard that you were back. Theyโve all come over, saying they want to hold a shareholdersโ meeting,โ the secretary explained.
โA shareholdersโ meeting?โ Debra frowned.
A shareholdersโ meeting was a big deal for any company. It would not be held without a good reason.
โIt seems someone is trying to stage a coup,โ Marion sneered.
