Chapter 90
Shelia was still waiting in the living room when Juan returned with a gloomy face. She probed, โDidnโt Debra come back with you?โ
Juan snorted, โIf she doesnโt want to come back, she never has to.โ
Shelia rejoiced at this statement. Debra was so foolish. She had the chance to win Juanโs heart but chose to waste it. This was good news for Shelia. As long as Debra wasnโt around, she would have opportunities to get close to Juan and win his favor. She looked at Juanโs face, feeling confident about her prospects with him. She sensed that Juan had feelings for her; he had always treated her differently from others.
The next morning, Debra woke up groggy. She opened her eyes to see the white ceiling and unfamiliar surroundings. She rubbed her temples, remembering that last night she and Erica had gone to a nightclub and requested male models to join them for drinks. Later, Randy and Marion found them, and she seemed to fall asleep in the car. She couldnโt remember anything after that.
Someone knocked on the door, interrupting her thoughts.
โCome in,โ she said.
Erica came in with an apologetic look. โDebra, Iโm sorry, I drank too much last night.โ
โNo worries, I actually had fun.โ
โHurry and freshen up! Breakfast is ready!โ Randy called out from the kitchen.
Debra got out of bed and found Marion and Randy in the living room. The decor was dull, with a uniform color scheme throughout. The furniture was arranged simply, without any clutter. However, she could tell that the furnishings were unique pieces, not the kind sold on the market.
โStop daydreaming and get up; breakfast is ready,โ Randy urged.
Debra tugged at Ericaโs arm, suddenly noticing she was wearing unfamiliar pajamas.
Erica understood her confusion and whispered, โMarion asked the housekeeper to change your clothes.โ
โThis is Marionโs house?โ
โYep!โ Erica said. โMarion lived in Seamar City when he was little. After he went abroad, this place was empty for a long time.โ
Debra nodded in understanding. Erica linked arms with her. โCome on, letโs get ready and let them do their thing.โ
Actually, it was Randy preparing everything. He bustled about like a servant.
Chapter 20
โHow did I get back last night?โ Debra couldnโt help but ask.
Erica shook her head. โI donโt know either. When I woke up, it was already morning.โ
Debra only remembered Marion telling her to rest for a bit. As for what happened afterward, she had no idea. She thought of her drunken state and felt embarrassed.
โIt must be Marion who carried you back. Heโs so considerate. Heโs never even carried me,โ Erica teased with a knowing look.
Debra blushed. When she came out of the bathroom and saw Marion at the table, her heart somehow raced.
Randy looked back and asked, โDebra, why is your face flushed? Are you running a fever?โ
