Edgar sneered, “All three of you are in my grasp, Marlon, the Eaton family, and Drake are at my mercy.”

Debra glanced at the stun baton in her hand, her voice calm but biting. “What makes you think that way?”

She began walking toward Edgar, her every step steady and deliberate. Edgar used to be the head of the Odom family. His fighting skills were not bad. But Debra’s confident demeanor made him hesitate and wonder if she could really take him on.

Liza struggled, managing to bring her stiletto heel down hard on Edgar’s foot. He grunted in pain and loosened his grip on her. She bolted, but Edgar quickly recovered, grabbing her by the hair and yanking her back.

Debra coldly stared at him. “Let me guess. You used Cathryn to lure Liza here and then used Liza to trick me, didn’t you?”

Edgar snorted, “So what?”

Debra laughed mockingly, “Edgar, you used to be the most powerful man in Booton, and now you’ve stooped to kidnapping women to survive? No dignity left?”

“Dignity?” Edgar sneered. “When you’re cornered, dignity is nothing but a joke. It’s all because of you. You set me up and left me drowning in debt. You used your company to push me and colluded with Chace to help Oscar take over my family. I won’t let you get away with it.”

Debra scoffed, “Only a true bastard would resort to kidnapping women. You’re living proof of that.”

“Shut up!” Edgar roared. “Call Marion and tell him to pay the ransom. And you two.”

He whipped out a gun, aiming it at Cathryn and Liza. Cathryn was as white as a sheet, and Liza wasn’t faring much better.

Debra’s demeanor shifted. “This is all about money, right? How much are you asking for?”

Edgar replied, “The Eaton family, the Houston family, and the Lowe family are top-tier. And you, the hidden mastermind behind the McKinney Group…”

At that revelation, Liza and Cathryn shot Debra incredulous looks.

Debra frowned. “What? It’s not a secret anymore that I run the McKinney Group. Haven’t you been keeping up with the news?”

Liza nearly choked. At that hour, Debra was still in a mood to joke.

“I want a trillion,” Edgar declared.

Liza froze, believing that Edgar had lost his mind.

Debra laughed, “Quite the appetite.”

“Likewise,” Edgar huffed. “You were ruthless when you trapped me into signing off on thirty billion dollars in loans.”

“Kidnapping Cathryn is one thing,” Debra said calmly. “But Liza is the daughter of the Eaton family. I doubt you’ll live long enough to enjoy that money even if you get it.”
