Chapter 974
โTrue,โ Drake stood up. โGet the car ready. Weโre going.โ
โYes, boss,โ Kale shook his head. Drake never cared about his reputation. He just needed an excuse to go.
Once in the car, Kale started the engine and asked, โBoss, where are we headed?โ
โHow would I know? Didnโt Cathryn tell you where she was?โ
โNo, she didnโt.โ
Silence settled in the car.
Inside the abandoned factory, Edgar glanced at Liza. โFermin hasnโt shown up yet. Looks like he doesnโt care about you that much.โ
Liza retorted, โNo way. He loves me the most. Heโll come to save me.โ
โSeems like we canโt rely on you. I should contact Marion instead.โ Edgar pulled out his phone, planning to instruct Marion to leave the money in a safe spot.
Suddenly, a pair of headlights penetrated the darkness, shining directly at him.
โSee? I told you my brother would come to rescue me.โ Liza pointed at the black car in the distance.
Quickly, a figure emerged from the car. It was Frederic, dressed in a sharp suit bearing the Eaton family crest on his chest. The mask on his face was eerily terrifying.
Edgar asked with a frown, โYouโre Ferminโs man?โ
Debra was puzzled too, not expecting Frederic to work for the Eaton family. She wondered if the person she had seen at Drakeโs engagement party was him rather than Juan.
Frederic nodded but remained silent.
โWhereโs the money?โ Edgar demanded.
As Frederic stepped forward, he cautiously pulled Liza in front of him. โHand over the money first. Or Iโll kill her.โ
Debra watched Frederic closely, feeling something was off. At the engagement party, Fermin had brought a large entourage to back up Liza. But now, only Frederic was sent. It didnโt add up.
As Frederic remained silent, Edgar scowled, while Liza fidgeted.
Chapter 974
She didnโt think she had seen Frederic before, but he was her only hope now.
Frederic reached into his jacket, and Edgar expected a check or bank card. Instead, Frederic pulled out a pistol.
Debra realized what he was planning. She quickly grabbed the stun baton hidden in her sleeve and jabbed it into Edgarโs side, pulling Liza behind her.
Unfortunately, the stun batonโs charge wasnโt high enough to incapacitate Edgar. A gunshot rang out as Frederic shot the gun out of Edgarโs hand and then hit him in the left leg.
Edgar screamed in agony. Debra took the chance to push Liza toward Frederic.
